I usually recommend using the American Express Cobalt™ Card, which offers 5 points per dollar on grocery, restaurant, bar and food delivery purchases.

But here, during the summer, you’ll have to use another card because of the additional points you can earn through American Express’ online promotional offers.

For existing Cardmembers (who apply for the promotional offer in their online account), these are bonus points in addition to the points you would normally receive for purchases charged to your Card.

Thus, for restaurant purchases, you can earn:

• 7 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar with the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express^® Card
• 12 Aeroplan points per dollar with the American Express^® Aeroplan^®* Reserve Card
• 13 Membership Rewards points per dollar with the Platinum Card^®

This is unheard of for this type of spending.

Most Metro, Super C, Marché Richelieu, Giant Tiger, Safeway, Sobeys, Whole Foods Market, Food Basics, FreshCo, Save-On-Foods, accept American Express. So are more and more IGA grocery stores.

Also, all food delivery services (Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes, Good Food, Cook It, etc.) accept American Express Cards. And this is also the case for many restaurants and bars.

But also other businesses throughout Quebec and Canada.
