Additionally, it includes a NEXUS statement credit of up to $200, waived annual fees of $150 for the first year, and a promotional rate of 0% on balance transfers for 12 months (2% fee). In total, the value can reach $1,600. Offer valid for applications received between June 2, 2026, and October 31, 2026.

Am I eligible if I already have a BMO card?

The offer is reserved for new cardholders. However, you are not eligible if you are already a BMO Blue Rewards cardholder (current or former), if you reinstate a closed account for the same card, or if you transfer another BMO credit card to this product during the offer period. For other BMO cards not covered (Ascend, CashBack, eclipse, etc.), you remain eligible for this offer.

What are the eligibility criteria?

BMO requires an annual personal income of $80,000 or a household income of $150,000. Additionally, a Very Good credit score (725 to 759) is required. The card is offered to adult Canadian residents in all provinces.

How does the 10x Blue Points accelerator work?

Accepted Answer

You accumulate 10 Blue Points per dollar spent at participating Blue Rewards partners (Pharmasave, Global Pet Foods, Budget, Alamo, National Car Rental, TIMBER MART, KENT, Irving Oil, Pitou Minou, Nova Scotia Liquor Corporation, and Blue Rewards Travel). However, this rate is capped at $1,000 per billing cycle. Beyond that, the rate reverts to the base category.

What are the accumulation rates on other purchases?

You earn 2 Blue Points per dollar spent on groceries, gas, electric vehicle charging, alcohol, and at warehouse clubs. However, this rate is capped at $500 in net purchases per category per statement period. Beyond that, purchases revert to the base rate of 1 Point per dollar. On all other non-accelerator category purchases, the rate remains 1 Blue Point per dollar, with no cap. Furthermore, if a grocery store or gas station is a Blue Rewards partner, the 10x rate applies, not the 2x.

How much are Blue Points worth?

1,500 Blue Points are equivalent to $10 for in-store redemptions at participating partners or for electronic gift cards. The unit value is therefore approximately 0.67¢ per point. On this basis, the 100,000 bonus Points are worth $665. For redemptions on Blue Rewards Travel (flights, hotels, car rentals), the value remains similar depending on the exchange terms.

How many lounge passes are included?

The card provides access to Mastercard Travel Pass membership powered by DragonPass, with four complimentary lounge passes per calendar year. Additional visits cost US$32 per person, per visit. The program covers over 1,300 airport lounges worldwide.

Is the $200 NEXUS credit recurring?

Accepted Answer

No. The NEXUS statement credit of up to $200 applies only in the first year and covers NEXUS application or renewal fees charged to the primary card. The account must be in good standing at the time the fees are incurred. BMO credits the amount up to 12 weeks after the conditions are met. For subsequent years, you pay for the renewal yourself (approximately US$50 every 5 years).

How do I get the $150 annual fee rebate?

What travel insurance is included?

The card covers emergency medical care outside the province or country up to $5 million per person, for trips of a maximum of 15 consecutive days. Coverage also includes rental vehicle loss and damage insurance and purchase protection with extended warranty. However, the 15-day duration is shorter than several competitors (21 days on the BMO Ascend World Elite).

What is the difference with the no-fee BMO Blue Rewards Card?

The no-fee version offers 5 points per dollar at partners (cap of $500 per cycle), 1 point on groceries and gas, and 0.5 points elsewhere. It does not provide lounge access, travel insurance, or a NEXUS credit. This card will primarily suit profiles that want to test the program without a financial commitment.

Can I transfer my Blue Points to Aeroplan?

No. The Blue Rewards program does not have an airline transfer partner at this time. To book flights, you go through Blue Rewards Travel (powered by Expedia). However, you can now pay 100% of an airline ticket with your points, including taxes and fees, which AIR MILES did not allow.
