Hello, my name is Jean-Maximilien Voisine and I am passionate about travel, aviation… and points and miles to travel for free (or almost…!) all over the world, with my wife Audrey and our two children.
The first time I flew… I was two months old. My parents took me to travel all over Europe and then North America.
As a teenager, I thought that one day I would live on this side of the ocean, looking for the famous “American dream”. In the meantime, to travel for free in France, I was already using the few opportunities of loyalty programs.
Then, in 2011, with Audrey, we decided to move to Montreal… like many French people.
And there, I was like a child in front of the Christmas tree: the canadian credit cards were opening the doors of free travels !
I felt like I was alone in taking advantage of this points and miles system: our new Canadian friends were obviously not well informed on the subject.
So I organized their credit cards applications and their travels.
In May 2015, at the same time as the birth of our first child, one of my friends introduced me to a journalist from the newspaper Les Affaires, looking for information on loyalty programs.
After an hour of interview, she invited me to share my passion to as many people as possible by opening “a blog”.
On parental leave, between diapers and baby bottles, I designed: milesopedia.
The goal was clear: to build an “encyclopedia” of points and miles so that as many Canadians as possible can enjoy their hard-earned points!
After 4 years of blogging, and dozens of family trips around the world, it was time to take it to the next level with a new website.
milesopedia has become Canada’s most recognized platform for points, miles, credit cards and rewards programs.
Read by tens of thousands people each month, and an ever-growing community, milesopedia is the best platform:
- for individuals to discover tips and tricks, reviews or to keep up with the latest rewards program news
- for companies that want to share essential product information with as many people as possible: American Express, Scotiabank, Bank of Montreal, National Bank, MBNA, Aeroplan, Air Canada, AIR MILES, Marriott Bonvoy and many other institutions regularly solicit our services
- for journalists looking for information on loyalty programs and credit cards: we gave interviews to media such as Radio-Canada, TVA, Les Affaires, La Presse, Le Journal de Montréal or Métro
