The new RBC Visa Moi co-branded credit card makes its debut, as promised with the arrival of the MOI program from Metro Inc.
The new MOI program from Metro Inc. finally makes its appearance in Metro grocery stores, Brunet and Première Moisson branches, as the details of the new RBC Visa co-branded credit cardare revealed. Note that the accumulation of MOI points will soon be possible at Super C and Jean Coutu.
It is not yet possible to sign up for the card, but you can still learn the details and benefits to see if they are worth it. Let’s have a look.
Moi RBC Visa Card - Card Benefits
For its launch in the next few weeks, it will have a welcome offer of 3,000 MOI points on the first purchase. This has a value of $24, because each MOI point is worth $0.008.
Then, if you keep the card active for 180 days, you’ll earn an extra 1,000 MOI points. This is worth $8, for a grand total of 4,000 MOI points ($32). This offer runs until August 31, 2023.
Please note that the moi RBC Visa Credit Card is a no-annual-fee credit card.
The moi BC Visa Card base earning isone MOI Point for every $1 in purchases.
Then, earning points with the RBC Visa MOI credit card AND by swiping the MOI card at the checkout of participating stores will be :
- One additional MOI point for every $1 spent at Metro, Première Moisson and Brunet in Quebec
- One additional MOI point for every $1 spent at Jean Coutu in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick
Then, for other expenses charged to the account :
- 2 MOI points per $1 of restaurant purchases, gas and electric vehicle charging
For example, for a qualifying purchase of $10 at :
- Metro = 10 base points with MOI membership card + 20 extra points for spending at Metro with MOI RBC Visa credit card =30 MOI points
- Super C = 0 basic points earned at the store + 10 basis points with RBC Visa MOI card = 10 MOI points

moi RBC Visa Credit Card - Is it worth it?
Many credit cards offer an accelerated earning rate, in points or cash back, for groceries. Combined with the right rewards program, you can double dip and maximize the return on your purchases as we demonstrate in these articles:

Bottom line
At this time, the new moi RBC Visa credit card is not the best value for grocery spending. However, it can be interesting for those who want to maximize all their points in one place with the new MOI program.
