New ETIAS travel authorization

An important new feature for 2024: Canadian travelers to Europe will be required to apply for an online travel authorization called ETIAS (European Travel Information and Authorization System) prior to departure. This authorization is required to enter the Schengen area, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania.

The system has not yet been finalized and is scheduled for launch in 2024. The ETIAS will cost €7 and be valid for 3 years. Further details will follow in the coming months.
