Walmart+ Arrives in Canada

To the point Walmart+ is now in Canada: $8.97/month or $89/year for free same-day delivery, free shipping with no minimum, and a Crave subscription. Is it worth it?

Walmart+ has launched in Canada. Available since June 4, 2026, it’s a membership program that helps you save on delivery fees, shipping costs, and more when you sign up for a monthly or annual plan.

Canada is the first market outside the United States to get Walmart+, and the program replaces the former Delivery Pass. Its perks are available at nearly all of the 400+ Walmart locations across Canada, plus through Walmart’s website and app.

In this article, we go over the benefits and the available plans so you can see whether Walmart+ is right for you, along with a few other ways to save at Walmart. For a broader look at your options, you can also check our roundup of the best credit cards in Canada.

Walmart+ Membership

Walmart Canada has introduced a new way for Canadians to save time and get more value from their purchases. The Walmart+ membership program offers several benefits, including free delivery and shipping, for a reasonable monthly or annual fee.

To become a member, sign up on the Walmart+ website or via the Walmart app, and choose one of the two available plans:

  • Monthly: $8.97 + tax, billed every 30 days (equivalent to $107.64 for the year)
  • Annual: $89 + tax, billed every 365 days (a savings of about $19 compared to the monthly plan)

The monthly fee of $8.97 is about the same as a single Walmart delivery, so joining Walmart+ pays for itself if you order more than once a month.

With the launch of Walmart+, the previous Delivery Pass program is being shut down. Current Delivery Pass members were automatically transitioned to Walmart+ on June 4, 2026, with added benefits and no change to their original $89/year price.

New customers can try Walmart+ risk-free with a 30-day free trial via the Walmart+ website or the Walmart app. The Crave benefit is included during the trial; note that Crave access ends with the trial if you don’t continue as a paid member.

Walmart+ Benefits

Free delivery

The main benefit of Walmart+ is unlimited free same-day delivery from your local store on orders over $35. The membership also offers discounts on eligible Express Delivery orders, which can arrive in two hours or less.

Deliveries from Walmart stores and warehouses typically cost between $7.97 and $9.97 per standard delivery, about the same as one month of Walmart+.

To be eligible for free delivery, your order must meet these conditions:

  • Ordered by 4 p.m. for same-day delivery
  • Order over $35 (before taxes and fees)
  • Placed on Walmart.ca or the Walmart app
  • Items available at your local store (items not available locally are shipped instead, see below)

Walmart+ members can also save up to $8.97 on fees for express deliveries. This savings estimate is based on an estimated member fee of $4 to $6 for express delivery versus the non-member cost of $12.97 to $14.97.

Free shipping

Another benefit of Walmart+ is free shipping with no minimum order amount on thousands of eligible items. Without the membership, shipping is often free on orders over $35 (before taxes and fees), but fees apply to smaller orders.

As with delivery, you shop for these items on Walmart.ca and through the Walmart app. The difference between shipping and delivery is that shipped orders come from Walmart warehouses and eligible third-party sellers.

To enjoy free shipping with no minimum order amount, the items in your order must be:

  • Sold and shipped by Walmart, or
  • Sold by participating Marketplace sellers, and fulfilled and shipped by Walmart

Eligible items usually carry a badge on the website or app. Note that shipping exclusions can include items over 150 lbs., delivery to remote areas in Canada, and scheduled delivery orders from stores.

Crave subscription

As a Walmart+ member, you also get a complimentary subscription to Crave Standard with Ads.

This streaming service includes popular shows like Heated Rivalry and Shoresy, plus a large catalogue of HBO and Max Originals, CTV and Noovo series, blockbuster movies, and more. You also get access to select live sports events, providing lots of opportunities to sit back and relax.

On its own, Crave Standard with Ads costs $11.99 per month, about $144 per year, which is already more than the $89 annual Walmart+ fee.

Is Walmart+ Worth It?

Before signing up, it helps to weigh the upsides against the limits.

Pros

  • Crave included: worth about $144/year on its own, more than the $89 annual fee.
  • Unlimited same-day delivery from the store on orders over $35.
  • Free shipping with no order minimum on eligible items.
  • Months free each year when you pay with a Walmart Rewards card.
  • 30-day free trial to test it first.

Cons

  • $35 minimum: smaller same-day orders still incur a fee.
  • Crave has ads: it’s the Standard with Ads tier; going ad-free costs extra.
  • Express Delivery isn’t free: members pay a reduced fee, not zero.
  • Availability varies: same-day delivery isn’t offered everywhere in Canada.
  • Shipping exclusions: freight, oversized, and Marketplace seller items don’t qualify.
  • Limited points: Walmart often doesn’t code as a grocery store, so bonus grocery rates may not apply.

For frequent Walmart shoppers, the math is straightforward. If you order delivery or have items shipped even a couple of times a month, the $89 annual fee is easy to justify, especially since the included Crave subscription alone is worth roughly $144 per year.

This membership makes the most sense if you:

  • Order groceries or other items from Walmart for delivery on a regular basis
  • Ship smaller online orders that would otherwise have shipping fees
  • Would use a Crave subscription anyway
  • Carry a Walmart Rewards card, which gets you several months free each year

On the other hand, if you rarely order online and don’t want Crave, the membership has less to offer. In that case, use the free 30-day trial to test it before committing.

Other Ways to Save at Walmart

One of the best ways to save at Walmart is with one of the two Walmart credit cards, which let you earn up to 5% back in Walmart Rewards dollars. These dollars can be redeemed for future Walmart purchases at a rate of 1 Walmart dollar = $1 Canadian.

Another reason it may be worth getting one of the two Walmart credit cards is that they both give you a discount on your Walmart+ membership. With the Walmart Rewards™ Mastercard® you get 3 months of membership free each year, and with the Walmart Rewards™ World Mastercard® you get 6 months, a savings of $27 to $54.

You can also choose a credit card that earns valuable points or cash back on all your purchases. Since Walmart locations often don’t code as a grocery store, it can be hard to use cards with high grocery earn rates. For Walmart purchases, a card with a solid base rate like the SimplyCash® Card from American Express (1.25% cash back on everything) is a safe bet.

If you want to maximize points, there’s another way. By using a card like the American Express Cobalt® Card to buy Walmart gift cards at eligible grocery stores, you can earn 5 Membership Rewards points per $1 spent. You then use those gift cards for in-store and delivery purchases at Walmart.

American Express Offer

American Express cardholders can also benefit from an Amex Offer for Walmart+. Availability varies by card:

  • Platinum Card: up to $12 per month in statement credits (100% cash back, including taxes)
  • Gold Card: up to $6 per month in statement credits (50% cash back, including taxes)

These offers are valid from February 2, 2026 to December 31, 2027. To use the offer, register it in your American Express account online or in the app, then pay for your monthly Walmart+ subscription with the registered card.

The offer applies to Walmart+ monthly memberships only; annual memberships aren’t eligible for the statement credit. For details on current Amex Offers, visit americanexpress.com/ca/en/benefits/amex-offers.

Maximize Points Beyond Walmart Cards

The Walmart Rewards cards are no-fee options, but other cards can offer better value depending on how your Walmart codes in their rewards categories. The key factor is whether your specific Walmart location is classified as a grocery store, which varies by issuer.

If your Supercentre codes as groceries, you can earn significantly more:

  • MBNA Rewards World Elite Mastercard: earns 5 points per dollar on groceries, restaurants, digital media, subscriptions, and utilities, up to $50,000 in annual spend in these categories (1 point per dollar after). Mastercard recognizes Walmart Supercentres as grocery stores, making this one of the best cards for Walmart shoppers. You also get a birthday bonus equal to 10% of the points earned in the previous 12 months (up to 15,000 points a year).
  • National Bank Mastercard World Elite: earns 5 points per dollar at grocery merchants, which includes many Walmart locations coded as supermarkets.
  • Tangerine World Mastercard: offers 2% cash back on groceries (including Walmart Supercentres that code in that category) and lets you customize two more bonus categories.

The best card for you depends on your Walmart location’s coding and your overall spending. Check with your issuer to confirm how your local store is classified before deciding which card to use.

Bottom Line

Walmart+ is now available in Canada, at $8.97 per month or $89 per year, replacing the former Delivery Pass. It’s a strong fit for Walmart fans who order delivery a couple of times a month, since two deliveries can offset the cost on their own.

Members also get free shipping with no minimum and a Crave subscription worth about $144 per year, making it easier to save time and add value. And if you pay the annual fee with a Walmart Rewards card, you get several months free.
