Impact for Aeroplan points holders
If one of these flights matches a trip you already have planned, automatic bonus registration makes all the difference: no action is required, and the bonus applies as soon as you purchase an eligible Economy ticket on aircanada.com. For frequent travellers who earn Status Qualifying Credits, these routes also speed up progress toward Aeroplan Elite status.
My recommendations
If a trip to one of these destinations was already in your plans, here’s how to take advantage of it before the October 19 and 26 deadlines.
- Book before your destination’s deadline: October 19 for sun destinations, Tenerife and Asia-Pacific, October 26 for Costa Rica. Later bookings earn no bonus points.
- Check the fare class before paying. A Basic Economy ticket earns no bonus points, even on an eligible route.
- Combine this offer with an Aeroplan credit card that already boosts your Air Canada purchases to maximize your points balance for a future redemption.
