New Aeroplan®* Reserve American Express® Card members can earn up to 150,000 Aeroplan points. American Express estimates the total offer value at up to $5,700 in value during your first 17 months (approximately $3,000 from the welcome bonus, $1,760 from earn, and $1,000 in benefits; terms and usage assumptions apply).

The annual fee is $599 and, like all American Express Canada cards, no minimum income is required.

How to get the 150,000 Aeroplan points

How much do you need to spend to get the 150,000 points?

Here are the expenditures to charge to your Card to unlock each tier, along with the base points accumulated in parallel. The calculation remains conservative: it applies the floor rate of 1.25 points per dollar, while your Air Canada purchases earn 3 and your dining earns 2.

By charging $45,000 in purchases to your Card in the first year, you accumulate 166,250 Aeroplan points (110,000 bonus and 56,250 base), worth approximately $3,325. The third tier adds 40,000 points during the second year (between the 15th and 17th month), for a total of approximately 206,250 points.
