When does the AMI BIXI x Wealthsimple program start?

The program covers the 2026 BIXI season, from May 1 to October 31, 2026. The Grand Prize draw will take place on November 2, 2026.

What is the guaranteed minimum amount for the Grand Prize?

The guaranteed minimum amount is $100,000 Canadian. The maximum amount is capped at $150,000. Wealthsimple adds $1 to the prize pool for every 100 rides collectively completed.

Is the $1 per ride offer open to existing Wealthsimple clients?

No. This offer is exclusively reserved for individuals who did not have a funded Wealthsimple account at the time of registration, or who funded their account within 30 days prior to registration. Long-standing clients are not eligible for this way to earn.

How does the 20% enhancement with the Wealthsimple card work?

By adding a Wealthsimple Visa Infinite, Visa Infinite +, or Visa Infinite Privilege card to your BIXI account, you get an enhanced 18% cash back, which is added to the basic 2%, for a total of 20% on unlock fees and per-minute usage fees. Seasonal or monthly subscription fees only benefit from the usual 2% cash back.

How many free rides can I get with Balance?

You can accumulate up to 40 points per month, for a maximum of 4 free 45-minute electric BIXI rides. The counter is reset on the first day of each month.

Do rides taken before my registration count?

For the Grand Prize draw, yes: eligible rides taken since May 1, 2026, are automatically converted into entries when you register. For the $1 per ride cash back, no: rides are only counted from the first day of the calendar month when your BIXI account is registered AND your Wealthsimple account is created and funded.

Do I need a Wealthsimple account to win the Grand Prize?

Not to participate, but yes to receive the prize. If you win and do not have a Wealthsimple account, you will have 30 days to open one. Otherwise, the prize will be awarded to another BIXI user through a new draw.

When will I receive my $1 per ride cash back?

Cash back is paid on the 15th day of the month following the relevant ride period. For example, rides taken in July will be credited to your Wealthsimple account on August 15.

Can I combine all four ways to earn?

Yes, all four ways are fully cumulative. A single ride can generate an entry into the draw, Balance points (if the station is in need), $1 cash back (if you are a new Wealthsimple client), and 20% cash back (if you pay with a Wealthsimple Visa Infinite card).
