The new partnership between Aeroplan and Hertz lets you earn more Aeroplan points, enjoy increased benefits, and gain Aeroplan elite status faster.
You can easily enjoy the new earning opportunity by making sure you’re signed up for both an Aeroplan account and a Hertz Gold+ account, and then either:

Additionally, if you forget to add your Aeroplan membership number, you can request retroactive Aeroplan points via the Hertz website for up to 6 months after the rental date.
Once you’re enrolled in both programs and have added your Aeroplan number, you can enjoy the following benefits:
All Aeroplan members are eligible to earn points when they book with Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty. However, the number of Aeroplan points that you earn depends on your Aeroplan elite status and which of the three rental companies you book with.
For car rental bookings made after May 6, 2026, with Hertz, you can earn Aeroplan points at the following rates:
For car rental bookings made after May 6, 2026, with Dollar or Thrifty, you can earn 2 Aeroplan points per $1 spent.
For all eligible bookings made after May 6, 2026, with Hertz, Dollar, and Thrifty, Aeroplan members will also get 1 Status Qualifying Credit (SQC) for every 5 Aeroplan points earned through the partnership.
As a reminder, you need the following number of SQC to earn Aeroplan elite status:
Another benefit of the partnership is that eligible Aeroplan elite members and Aeroplan credit card holders can enjoy Five Star or President’s Circle status in Hertz’s reward program.
You get complimentary Hertz President’s Circle status with Aeroplan 75K or Super Elite status, or with the following premium credit cards:
