When will Lynx stop flying?

Lynx Air will cease flight operations at 12:01 a.m. MT on Monday, February 26 (or 2 a.m. in Quebec and Ontario).

What if I booked a flight with Lynx Air this weekend until Sunday, February 25?

Flights will continue to operate throughout the weekend.

If your flight is cancelled, you will be informed by e-mail. For the latest information, please refer to the Flight status section on Lynx Air.

What if I booked a flight with Lynx Air on or after Monday, February 26, 2024?

All Lynx Air flights departing from Monday, February 26, 2024 are cancelled. To get your money back, please contact your credit card issuer for a chargeback.

Then you’ll have to come up with your own alternative arrangements.

Bankruptcy of travel provider (up to $2,500 per insured): If a trip or a portion of a trip cannot be completed by the insured due to bankruptcy, receivership or insolvency of a travel provider, the trip cancellation and interruption insurance will reimburse the unused and non-refundable portion of the cost charged to the account.

This means you could be reimbursed for certain non-refundable travel expenses if you no longer wish to make the trip, now that Lynx Air flights have been cancelled.

How can I get a refund for my Lynx Air flight?

Request a chargeback from your financial institution (call the customer service number on the back of your credit card or see our quick tip below).
If you have booked a non-refundable hotel, Airbnb, car rental or other reservation at your destination and can no longer go, contact your credit card issuer to find out if cancellation or interruption insurance can reimburse you for certain charges.

Tip for fast chargeback with Lynx Air

To make a chargeback quickly without calling your credit card’s customer service department, search your profile for your Lynx reservation transaction. Then click on this operation.

You’ll see a term like Dispute this transaction. Follow the steps and your chargeback will be done! All you have to do is wait for your financial institution’s decision and reimbursement.

Air Canada helps Lynx Air passengers

Air Canada also plans to cap its air fares. These special prices will be available for ticket purchases made before February 26, 2024, so don’t delay!

They will be in effect for travel until April 2, to cover the Canadian spring break and Easter vacation periods.

From February 25 to March 19, Air Canada will be increasing capacity by more than 6,000 seats on Lynx Air routes from Toronto and Montreal to :

Cancún
Fort Myers
Orlando
Tampa
Phoenix
Las Vegas.

However, given the busy Spring Break period and the fact that flights are already relatively full, the number of available seats is limited.

Air Canada has given no further details on the capped price or the discounts offered to Lynx Air passengers. Flights can be purchased on aircanada. com or through travel agents. Air Canada will not be able to honour Lynx Air tickets.

WestJet and its special discount code for Lynx Air passengers

WestJet has a special discount code for Lynx Air passengers who are already travelling. On the WestJet website, enter the code WESTJET when booking and you’ll receive a 25% discount until February 29, 2024 only.

This is valid on all economy cabin fares on WestJet non-stop routes formerly served by Lynx, for travel between February 22, 2024 and October 26, 2024. Hurry, as reservations must be made on the WestJet website by February 29, 2024.

For passengers in the U.S. and sunshine destinations: Price capped at $250 plus taxes and fees on all northbound economy fares on WestJet non-stop routes previously served by Lynx for travel until February 29, 2024. Reservations must be made before February 29, 2024.

All domestic fares on WestJet non-stop routes formerly served by Lynx, for travel until February 29, 2024, will not exceed $500 plus taxes and fees.
