We were able to access the lounge United Polaris Lounge at San Francisco International Airport while connecting to Toronto while we were arriving from Osaka (and had spent the day visiting San Francisco).
The lounge United Polaris Lounge is for passengers only:
Air Canada or United flights to Canada do not give the right to access this “pan class=”term” data-original-term=”c2Fsb24=”salon.
The lounge United Polaris Lounge is located in the International Terminal G, immediately to the right passing security. It is also accessible from Terminal 3 (the two terminals are connected without the need to pass through security again).
The lounge United Polaris Lounge is open from 6:30am to midnight every day. When we were there between 8:00 and 11:00 p.m., it was not very busy.
The lounge United Polaris Lounge is spread over 2 floors.
On the first floor there are showers and rest areas. It is a particularly quiet floor located behind the escalators.
While on the second floor, we find the bar, the restaurant, the buffet and the work spaces.
After a night in the air between Osaka and San Francisco, followed by a day exploring the city, we were happy to get a shower before boarding a new night flight to Canada.
The lounge United Polaris Lounge has many showers and we had no waiting to get one each.
Practical: USB sockets are installed in the bathroom.
Located in the same place as the showers, rest areas are available. These are individual rooms – not completely closed – with a bench for lying down and relaxing.
For parents with young children, a changing room is available.
On the rest of this first floor, many seats are available, most of them with electric and USB sockets.
The second floor is “massive”. All in length, it is divided into 5 spaces:
United offers quality, well-partitioned workspaces. The chairs are really wide and have USB and electrical outlets, as well as individual lighting.
It is also possible to be more isolated in closed rooms.
The buffet is at the end of the second floor, after the bar. This buffet is regularly replenished with a variety of choices.
All the food seems to be of high quality, with different international flavours (Asian, Indian).
In front of the buffet there are many tables for dinner.
At the bar, you can ask for any alcohol and cocktail (or even non-alcoholic drinks that would not be available for free like Perrier).
If everything is free, don’t hesitate to tip the bartender!
The particularity of the lounge United Polaris Lounge is to offer, in addition to the buffet, a restaurant with table service. We didn’t have the opportunity to test it, having had dinner just before in San Francisco with friends!
However, the proposed offer seemed interesting.
On the other side of the second floor is the Studio area. This is another buffet, offering mainly drinks and light snacks.
At this late hour, nothing was offered on this side, but the space was empty, making it easier to concentrate and work!
The United Polaris Lounge is an excellent airport lounge with absolutely everything: diverse food, alcoholic beverages, showers, rest areas and work areas.
In short, an essential stopover at San Francisco International Airport if you’re traveling in business class! If you don’t have access to it, you could fall back on the span class=”term” data-original-term=”c2Fsb24=”salon American Express Centurion, which is also a high level.
