To the point Air Canada has unveiled several changes to Aeroplan Elite status benefits planned for 2024.

Aeroplan Elite Status Changes - Air Canada Café Access

The conditions of access to Air Canada Café remain the same for Aeroplan 50K Elite members and above, but there is greater flexibility for guests.

From now on, an eligible Aeroplan Member may be accompanied not only by a guest, but also by his or her spouse and up to five dependent children.

This policy is now aligned with Air Canada’s Maple Leaf Lounges.

Depending on the Aeroplan status held at the time of the eligible activity, the number of eUpgrades and SQM credits varies:

Aeroplan Status eUpgrades credits SQM
Aeroplan 25K 4 750
Aeroplan 35K 6 1 000

Aeroplan Status Period Destination
Aeroplan 25K Check-in All destinations

Aeroplan Elite Status Changes - Lower Requalification Select Benefit

Starting January 1, 2024, rather than reducing the thresholds of SQMs and Status Qualifying Segments (SQSs) required for requalification, Aeroplan members will receive a one-time bonus of 5,000 SQMs and 5 SQSs.
So, if you select this new privilege, you’ll get the bonus right away, which will count towards your threshold-related gifts and eUpgrades.

This change brings greater flexibility, although some may prefer the old system.
