Buy Avios With a Bonus

Until October 19, 2026, a flash sale lets you buy Avios from the Qatar Airways Privilege Club program with a bonus of up to 60%. It is a targeted offer: it shows up in your account once you log in, and the tiers can vary from one account to the next.

These sales work in tiers: the more Avios you buy in one go, the higher the bonus percentage climbs.

The purchase is non-refundable, and the Avios are credited within 72 hours.
Purchased Avios do not count toward earning or keeping status in the program.
You must have earned at least 1 Avios since joining to be able to buy more.

At the 250,000 Avios annual cap, the deal hands you 150,000 bonus Avios, for 400,000 Avios in total, at a cost of USD 5,750. That works out to 1.44 US cents per Avios, or about 2 CAD cents at the C$1.41 per US$1 rate we use across our buy-points guides. That is roughly our valuation of 2 CAD cents, so buying only makes sense for a specific redemption worth clearly more, such as a business class award.

One quirk of the grid is worth the detour: buying more sometimes costs less, because the bonus jumps from one tier to the next. During the August 2026 sale, 25,000 Avios cost USD 600, while 26,000 Avios cost USD 598. Always check the tier just above before you confirm.

Buying Avios could help you in case you run out of Avios to book an airline award, if you’ve exhausted all other options for earning Avios via credit cards.
