As Rewards Canada spotted a few days ago, the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge-Plaza Premium Lounge has been welcoming passengers at Montreal-Trudeau International Airport since March 1, 2024!
The opening of this lounge in the transborder area (flights to the United States) was planned for 2020 but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This lounge offers an alternative to the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge, YUL – transborder area.
The Desjardins Odyssey Lounge-Plaza Premium Lounge is open from 4:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. and seats just over 100.
Here are a few photos provided by Montréal-Trudeau International Airport of the new lounge:
You’ll find:
Located near gate 76 – right next to the Houston Bar – the new Desjardins Odyssey Lounge is a lounge managed by Plaza Premium.
And that’s great news! This means that it can be accessed by Desjardins customers with specific Odyssey credit cards, as well as by travellers with Plaza Premium access.
First and foremost, the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge-Plaza Premium Lounge is open to Desjardins Odyssey credit card holders:
To access the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge-Plaza Premium Lounge, you must have your boarding pass for the day and a Desjardins credit card in good standing:
It should be noted that the Platinum Prestige and Visa Platinum cards have not been offered to new customers by Desjardins for several years. However, holders with these cards can access the Desjardins Odyssey Lounge-Plaza Premium Lounge at a discount.
Eligible Desjardins cardholders may bring as many guests as they wish as long as they still have access remaining on their card. Each person counts as one lounge access, even children over 3.
When the free visits coming with the Desjardins Odyssey Visa Infinite Privilege Card or the Desjardins Odyssey World Elite Mastercard are exhausted, there is a 50% discount on the cost of admission to the lounge. Then there will be a guest limit.
There is a limit of one adult and up to 3 children under 18 to enter the lounge. This also applies to Odyssey Gold, Platinum and Prestige Platinum cardholders with the 50% discount.
You can also enter with other credit cards available in Canada.
Amex Platinum Cardmembers or Amex Business Platinum Cardmembers can access it for free (with a guest and up to two children under the age of 2. From the age of 2, they must pay a reduced fee).
Similarly, American Express® Gold Rewards Cardmembers enjoy four complimentary annual visits.
One of the benefits of these cards is that they offer access to Plaza Premium lounges, of which the Desjardins Odyssey lounge is a member.
Thanks to an agreement between Visa and DragonPass (a network of lounges), Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders have six complimentary annual visits to DragonPass member lounges.
Here are some Visa Infinite Privilege credit cards:
Also, if you hold one of these Visa credit cards, you have several complimentary annual visits to this airport lounge:
Finally, all World Elite Mastercard cardholders can access the lounge through Dragonpass. However, each visit is subject to a fee.
Only the BMO Ascend World Elite Mastercard offers four complimentary annual visits.
If you don’t have any of the above options, you can always purchase individual access to this Desjardins Odyssey Lounge via the Plaza Premium website. Currently, the Desjardins Odyssey lounge is not yet available on the Plaza Premium website (but it will be, like the Air France lounge, for example).
Or you can use one of your Canada Plaza Premium passes (PPL Pass Canada). If you buy a 10-visit PPL Pass Canada (US$300), access costs US$30.
