A few months after winning the title of Best European Airline and Best First Class for its La Première product at the World Travel Awards™ 2023, Air France unveils new services that are likely to appeal to many. Within the next few weeks, the French airline will be offering a concierge service to all passengers travelling in Economy, Premium Economy and Business cabins via Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG). On the menu? Private transfer, personalized welcome, luggage pick-up and drop-off. Here’s a look.
Air France’s new concierge services offer a tailor-made welcome and assistance to all passengers travelling in Economy, Premium Economy and Business cabins with the French airline or with a codeshare partner, notably SkyTeam alliance member airlines.
The services offered remain the same, regardless of the travel cabin, but vary according to the route:
For connecting flights, services are offered at all stages of the journey and include :
To access the Air France lounges, you must be travelling in the La Première cabin or in the Business cabin at Standard or Flex fares. You can also access them if you are a member of Flying Blue Platinum, Flying Blue Gold or SkyTeam Elite Plus.
If access to the lounges is not included in your ticket, you can always purchase the Lounge Option. With the concierge service, this is offered for €75, or 15,000 Flying Blue Miles.
For flights departing from CDG, the offer is more comprehensive. The same services as connecting flights are offered, in addition to :
SkyPriority is a service that enables passengers to enjoy VIP treatment at the airport, thanks to dedicated check-in counters and priority security check lanes, guaranteeing smooth, efficient passage.
Finally, for flights arriving at CDG, the same services are offered as for connecting flights, in addition to :
The concierge service offered by Air France is subject to a charge. It can be paid for in dollars (or euros), or Flying Blue Miles. The fare is based on the number of passengers; the larger the group, the less you pay.
It is important to note that the service is only refundable in the event of delay or cancellation of the Air France flight for which the option was purchased.
The easiest ways to earn Flying Blue Miles quickly in Canada are to apply to the Air France KLM World Elite Mastercard®, or to transfer your American Express Membership Rewards points to Flying Blue at a ratio of 1:0.75.
The best way to earn Flying Blue Miles is with an Air France KLM American Express card. Unlike American Express cards, which earn Membership Rewards points, Air France KLM American Express Silver, Gold and Platinum cards earn Flying Blue Miles.
Air France’s new concierge service is a welcome addition to the many services already offered by Air France, including SkyPriority, the Kids Solo program, Train + Air and its Flying Blue frequent flyer program.
While interesting, it does have a few limitations: it’s rather expensive, and transfers are only available to and from Paris. Of course, it is possible to use your Flying Blue Miles, but as we explain in our guide to the value of Miles, it is generally more cost-effective to opt for an Award or Promo Award ticket than for an in-flight option. It’s up to you!
Yes, Air France’s concierge service on departure from CDG includes carrying your baggage to a Sky Priority counter.
Pets are accepted on board cars provided they are carried in the same approved crate as the one used to transport them in the cabin or in the hold of the Air France flight on which they are checked in.
Air France flights operate from CDG Terminal 2, specifically in sections 2E, 2F and 2G, used for departures and arrivals by the French national airline.
