Bad news: Aer Lingus has just announced the cancellation of all its flights between Montreal and Dublin in 2019.
The Irish company had announced with great fan fare the launch of a direct flight between Dublin and Montreal from August 8, 2019.
This route was made possible by the introduction of new single-aisle aircraft, the Airbus A321LR.
Unfortunately, Airbus is experiencing delays on its assembly line, pushing back deliveries of these aircraft. The Irish company is therefore unfortunately forced to review its plans and has just announced this in a press release.
All flights between Dublin and Montreal in 2019 are therefore cancelled. The launch of the line is postponed to the summer of 2020.
The company states:
All guests booked to fly on affected flights are being accommodated on alternative flights. Aer Lingus wishes to apologize for the inconvenience caused.
In the facebook group “Travel for free (or almost…!) with your points & miles – milesopedia”, several members had booked their flights with their British Airways Executive Club miles.
They have received notice of the cancellation of the tickets and are awaiting other options.
