What Is Chexy?

Chexy is a Canadian company that lets you use a credit card of your choice to cover payments typically made by electronic transfer, Interac e-Transfer, or direct debit.

For example, with Chexy, you can pay your rent, tuition, daycare fees, taxes, and insurance, while earning valuable reward points such as Aeroplan, TD Rewards, BMO Rewards, Scene+, and more.

To earn points on these expenses, you can easily sign up to Chexy for free, and then pay a small processing fee for each bill paid.

Since the platform accepts Visa, American Express, and (newly added) Mastercard, you’ve got the flexibility to earn whichever reward currency you currently value the most.

Best Credit Cards to Use

Since this is an Aeroplan partnership promotion, it seems fitting to highlight some of the top Aeroplan cards to use with Chexy.

Aeroplan credit cards earn points on every purchase. Here we showcase 5 excellent cards along with the rate they earn on recurring bill payments with Chexy:

Now, of course, you’re not limited to using Aeroplan cards when paying bills through Chexy. If you’re working to meet a new card’s minimum spend requirement or you’d like to earn something other than Aeroplan points, you’re welcome to choose your current favourite Visa, Mastercard, or American Express card.

Alternatively, a card with a high earn rate in the recurring bill payment category would be another great choice.

Is this Chexy + Aeroplan Offer Worth It?

To figure out if it’s worth pursuing the 7,000 bonus Aeroplan points available in this promotion, let’s take a look at the math.

Since we value Aeroplan points at 2 cents each, that makes the offer worth around $140.

Given this, let’s imagine that we’ve signed up as a new Chexy user, and for 12 months, we pay the following 4 bills through the service:

  • Car insurance: $120
  • Hydro: $110
  • Water: $80
  • Daycare: $1,200

Since Chexy charges a 1.75% fee, these 4 bills, totalling $1,510, would cost $26.43 in fees to process. For this fee, the bills would earn you 500 bonus Aeroplan points each month. Additionally, if you used a premium Aeroplan credit card like the TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card, you’d earn another 1.25 Aeroplan points per $1 spent (or 1,887 points).

This means that each month you would earn 2,387 Aeroplan points valued at around $47.75 for a fee of $26.43. Over 12 months, this puts you ahead by around $255.84, and that’s not even counting the 1,000 new sign-up bonus you received in the first month.

Bottom Line

The new Chexy and Aeroplan promotion offers the chance for new users who sign up between April 1 and June 30, 2026, to earn up to 7,000 bonus Aeroplan points.

If you’ve got just 4 recurring bills each month, this is an easy way to earn a nice Aeroplan bonus for little effort. Plus, now that Chexy accepts Mastercard alongside Visa and American Express, it’s easier than ever to take advantage of this service.

Of course, before you set up all your bill payments through Chexy, don’t forget to do the math to make sure that the value of the rewards offsets the processing fees. For more details on how to choose the right credit card and get rewarded for paying your bills, read our complete guide to Chexy.
