Are you an American Express premium cardmember? You may have received a special invitation to enjoy the Maison Amex Montreal, a lounge located at 1405 Stanley Street at Montreal during the FORMULA 1 PIRELLI GRAND PRIX DU CANADA 2025, from June 12 to 15, 2025.
The following cards are eligible for access to the Amex House Montreal:
No pre-registration is required to visit the Amex House Montreal.
If you have one of these American Express cards, you can simply show up during opening hours at Maison Amex Montreal.
That’s what part of the Milesopedia team did in 2024. Read about our experience below.
From Thursday, June 12 to Sunday, June 15, 2025, between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m. (ET), guests can enjoy snacks courtesy of Danny Smiles, celebrated Montreal chef at Le Violon and former chef at Bremner.
In fact, Le Violon is one of the restaurants eligible for the $200 annual dining credit from the American Express Platinum Card®. You might want to try it out when you visit downtown Montreal (download the list of restaurants here).
Beverages will also be available for purchase at Maison Amex Montreal.
Each eligible American Express Cardmember may bring one guest aged 18 and over.
To gain access to the Amex House Montreal, cardholders must present an eligible American Express card and government-issued photo ID.
It’s first come, first served, and the lounge has limited space, so you may have to wait to get in if it’s very busy.
This year, instead of being on Crescent Street in the heart of the Grand Prix Festival, Maison Amex is two blocks away, on Stanley Street, just off Peel metro. At the entrance, we were asked for an eligible card and ID. There was no line-up on this Friday afternoon.
We’re immediately given a token to exchange for bites from the menu prepared by Danny Smiles, chef at Le Violon restaurant.
On the menu:
Last year, there was also a table with self-service snacks, which is not the case this year.
Unlike last year, the lounge is located on the first floor, with several small tables for seating. There are also several televisions to follow the Grand Prix action live. The design respects the American Express brand colors, with several nods to Formula 1.
The bar offers a good selection of cocktails and some beers, which are available at extra cost. There’s also a small section on the mezzanine level reserved for private events.
Several of us from the Milesopedia team took the opportunity to meet members of our beloved Facebook community.
The atmosphere is lively, with a DJ in charge of the music, although the high volume makes it difficult to hear our conversations at times.
Although we enjoyed our experience, it has to be said that last year’s lounge was warmer and more welcoming in its design and facilities, with couches and an outdoor terrace that made for a very pleasant visit. As for the food, the offer was also more interesting in 2024, with truffle fries and snacks. On the bar side, we would have liked more non-alcoholic options (soda, coffee) than what was on offer.
That said, downtown is very busy on Grand Prix weekend, so it’s always great to have a place like Maison Amex to relax. If you’re passing through and are an eligible cardholder like the American Express Platinum Card®take the opportunity to take a break.
In addition to this participation in the Montreal Grand Prix, American Express announced another partnership with Formula 1 for the Grand Prix in North America.
Although this type of invitation is often reserved for premium cardholders only, holders of other American Express cards can enjoy many other benefits such as :
