Amex Platinum Card: How To Use The $200 Annual Dining Credit? (+ list of eligible restaurants)

American Express Canada offers a $200 Annual Dining Credit to American Express Platinum Cardmembers^®.

Only this American Express Card is eligible for the $200 Annual Dining Credit. The Small Business version, the Business Platinum Card^® from American Express, therefore, does not have this $200 Annual Dining Credit.

The $200 Annual Dining Credit is a new benefit available since September 26, 2023, for American Express Platinum Cardmembers^®.

Each calendar year, on January 1, American Express Platinum Cardmembers^® will have a $200 Annual Dining Credit, which must be used at one of the participating restaurants in Canada. Sign up at the end of this article for a complete list of eligible restaurants by province in PDF format.

Exceptionally, in 2023, the $200 Annual Dining Credit will be available as of September 26, 2023, and can be used until December 31, 2023. After that, a new $200 Annual Dining Credit will be available in your American Express Platinum Card^® account starting January 1, 2024.

The $200 Annual Dining Credit is available only to the primary American Express Platinum Cardmember^®. Additional Cardmembers are not entitled to the $200 Annual Dining Credit.

To use the $200 Annual Dining Credit, you must log into your American Express Platinum Card^® online account or via the American Express Canada mobile app.

Then register for the American Express “$200 Annual Dining Credit” online offer just like any other American Express online offer. In subsequent years, you won’t have to register again for the offer to benefit from the $200 Annual Dining Credit: registration will be automatic following this initial registration.

It’s American Express’ way of introducing you to the American Express online offers!

Once registered to the online offer, you can use your $200 Annual Dining Credit at any participating restaurant. Simply pay your bill with the American Express Platinum Card^®. In addition to the Annual Dining Credit, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar for your restaurant meal (the American Express Platinum Card^® being one of the best restaurant credit cards).

Please note that the bill must be $200 or more (including taxes and gratuities). The $200 Annual Dining Credit can only be used once (and not spread over several bills).

You should also know that if you don’t use your Annual Dining Credit by December 31, it will be lost. You’ll get a new one on January 1.
