Gift cards in grocery stores

Being able to earn 5-6 points per dollar at the grocery store is great because that’s where you can get many gift cards!

cards

This finally allows, through gift cards, to earn 5 to 6 points per dollar for many other retailers: SAQ, Amazon, Ikea, Gap, Aldo, Home Depot, etc.

Annual limit

The annual purchase limit for the purchase categories is $50,000. Once this limit is reached, you will earn 1 point per dollar.

You will also earn 1 point per dollar in all purchase categories when you travel abroad.

Scotiabank Gold American Express® Card - Redeeming Scene+ points

You can apply your Scene+ points directly to your travel expenses (flights, hotels, Airbnb, car rentals, etc.) charged to the card: 10,000 Scene+ points = $100.

So 45,000 Scene+ points = $450.

This is one of the cards we recommend in these strategies:

You must redeem at least 5,000 points or $50 (after this threshold, the redemption ratio is 100 points = $1).

By redeeming your Scene+ points for travel expenses, you’re guaranteed a return of between 1% and 6%, depending on the retailer from which you’ve collected them.
