HotelSavers Aeroplan Promo: Get up to 10,000 points back on hotel reservations

To the point Between April 4 and 17, 2024, Aeroplan members can get up to 10,000 points back when they book a hotel stay through HotelSavers using Aeroplan points. Here are the details.

What is HotelSavers?

The Aeroplan HotelSavers platform was launched in October 2022. This is a hotel reservation platform that enables Aeroplan members to book stays at advantageous points rates. A bit like the old Marriott Bonvoy program, hotels are divided into eight categories and price ranges in points:

Aeroplan HotelSavers – Category Points per night
1 10 000 – 15 000
2 15 000 – 22 500
3 20 000 – 30 000
4 25 000 – 40 000
5 35 000 – 50 000
6 45 000 – 70 000
7 55 000 – 80 000
8 75 000 – 105 000

More than 6,000 hotels worldwide are part of the Aeroplan HotelSavers program, from budget hotels to the most luxurious five-star hotels. Find out more in this guide:

HotelSavers Aeroplan - The promotion

From April 4 to April 17, 2024, Aeroplan Members can get up to 10,000 points back when they redeem their points for a hotel stay through Aeroplan HotelSavers.

For a hotel stay booked in points with HotelSavers, receive :

  • 5,000 points on redemptions of more than 20,000 points;
  • 10,000 points for redemptions of more than 40,000 points.

The offer must be activated beforehand, by registering on this page. Stays must be completed by October 31, 2024.

By redeeming exactly 20,000 or 40,000 points, this equates to a 25% discount on the cost of the hotel. The redemption can be for a single night or several, but must be made in a single transaction to be eligible for the promotion.

What’s more, this promotion can be combined with the special offer of a fourth night free when booking with points for Aeroplan co-branded credit card holders.

Is it worth it?

It depends. Take the Hôtel Dame des Arts in Paris, for example: one night costs 45,850 Aeroplan points, or $629. Under this promotion, the discount would be 10,000 points, for a net cost of 35,850 points. The valuation calculation yields 1.75¢ per point, an excellent use for an Aeroplan hotel reservation.

According to Milesopedia’s estimate, an Aeroplan point is worth approximately 2 ¢ when exchanged for a flight. However, this figure rises to 0.8¢ on average when points are used for hotel reservations. In other words, it’s often more advantageous to use Aeroplan points to book flights rather than hotels.

Valuation is a personal question, and this article gives some food for thought on the famous question: should I use my points if I arrive at a valuation lower than 2¢?

So you can calculate the Aeroplan point value of this promotion and decide whether you think it’s a good use of your points.
