The Aeroplan HotelSavers platform was launched in October 2022. This is a hotel reservation platform that enables Aeroplan members to book stays at advantageous points rates. A bit like the old Marriott Bonvoy program, hotels are divided into eight categories and price ranges in points:

HotelSavers Aeroplan - The promotion

From June 10 to June 28, 2024, Aeroplan Members can earn up to 20,000 points when they redeem their points for a hotel stay through HotelSavers.

For a hotel stay booked with HotelSavers Aeroplan points, receive :

5,000 points on a redemption over 30,000 points;
10,000 points on a redemption of more than 60,000 points;
20,000 points on a redemption over 90,000 points.

To activate the offer, you must register on this page. Stays must be completed by December 31, 2024.

Redeeming exactly 30,000 or 60,000 points is equivalent to a 17% discount on the cost of the hotel, and redeeming 90,000 points is equivalent to a 22% discount. The redemption can be for a single night or several, but must be made in a single transaction to be eligible for the promotion.

What’s more, this promotion can be combined with the special offer of a fourth night free when booking with points for Aeroplan co-branded credit card holders. And if you have Aeroplan Elite status, you get an additional 2,500 Aeroplan points, as well as the opportunity to earn Titanium status with the I Prefer program.

As part of this promotion, until June 28, 2024, Aeroplan members with Aeroplan Elite status can also enjoy the benefits of Titanium status at Preferred Hotels & Resorts. Here are the steps to follow:

Aeroplan Elite Members should receive an invitation email from Aeroplan.
Eligible Aeroplan Elite Members can then register for the I Prefer program using the link provided in the e-mail.
Make sure you use the same name and e-mail address as your Aeroplan account when you register for I Prefer.
When booking via HotelSavers Aeroplan, you must add your I Prefer membership number to obtain the benefits associated with this status.

With Titanium status, Aeroplan Elite Members can enjoy the following benefits:

Is it worth it?

It depends. Take, for example, the Hotel Napoleon Paris from Preferred Hotels and Resorts: one night costs 93,300 Aeroplan points or $1,611. Under this promotion, the discount would be 20,000 points, for a net cost of 73,300 points. The valuation calculation gives 2.2¢ per point, which is an excellent use for an Aeroplan hotel reservation.
