To the point For a limited time, you can earn 20% in bonus points by transferring your Chase Ultimate Rewards points to Aeroplan. Holders of the Chase Aeroplan co-branded credit card can also take advantage of a 10% transfer bonus.

Chase Ultimate Rewards to Aeroplan: 20% Bonus

This promotion, which runs until July 31, 2024, is aimed at Chase U.S. credit cardholders who are part of the Chase Ultimate Rewards. For example, the Chase Sapphire Preferred Card or the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card.

Instead of the usual 1:1 transfer ratio, it will be possible to earn 1.2 Aeroplan points for each Chase Ultimate Rewards point transferred to the program. So by transferring 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, you’ll earn 60,000 Aeroplan points – a bonus of 10,000 points!

To take advantage of this promotion, a minimum of 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points must be transferred, and there is no maximum. The transfer may take up to seven days to appear in your Aeroplan account, but it could also appear much quicker.

These transfer promotions are available to U.S. Chase credit cardholders only. To find out how to apply for a U.S. credit card as a Canadian resident, consult our guide.

For your information, Chase UR points can be sent to other partners. Here is the complete list of airline loyalty programs:

Bottom Line

Aeroplan has been a transfer partner of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program since August 2021. Chase and Aeroplan then launched their co-branded credit card, the Chase Aeroplan® Card in December 2021.

Point transfer bonuses between programs are rare, sometimes appearing only once a year. So now’s a good time to transfer your points, especially if you’ve got travel plans in the pipeline.

Aeroplan recently updated its terms and conditions, limiting the number of sign-up bonuses that can be earned on its co-branded credit cards in Canada.

Canadians wishing to collect more Aeroplan points can turn to American Express Membership Rewards credit cards. These points can then be transferred to Aeroplan. However, Aeroplan Membership Rewards transfer bonuses have been few and far between in recent years.
