Chase Ultimate Rewards to Aeroplan: 20% Bonus

This promotion, in effect until January 15, 2025, is aimed at holders of Chase U.S. credit cards who take part in the Chase Ultimate Rewards program. The Chase Sapphire Preferred Card and the Chase Sapphire Reserve Card are two examples.

Rather than the usual 1:1 transfer ratio, you can get 1.2 Aeroplan points for every Chase Ultimate Rewards point sent to the program. Transferring 50,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points therefore yields 60,000 Aeroplan points, a bonus of 10,000 points.

To take advantage of this promotion, you must transfer a minimum of 1,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points, and there is no maximum. The transfer can take up to seven days to show up in your Aeroplan account, but it may be much faster than that.

For reference, Chase UR points can also be sent to other partners. Here is the complete list of airline loyalty programs:

Holders of the Chase Aeroplan® Card (available in the United States only) can also earn an additional 10% bonus when they transfer 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points or more to their Aeroplan account.

This bonus stacks with the current 20% offer, for a total of 30% in bonus Aeroplan points. A cap of 25,000 bonus points per calendar year applies.

Conclusion

Aeroplan has been a transfer partner of the Chase Ultimate Rewards program since August 2021. Chase and Aeroplan then launched their co-branded credit card, the Chase Aeroplan® Card, in December 2021.

Transfer bonuses between points programs are rare; in some cases they show up only once a year. That makes this a good time to move your points, especially if you have travel plans coming up.

Aeroplan recently updated its terms and conditions, capping the number of welcome bonuses that can be earned on its co-branded credit cards in Canada.

Canadians who want to build up more Aeroplan points can turn to American Express credit cards that earn Membership Rewards points. Those points can then be transferred to Aeroplan. That said, Membership Rewards transfer bonuses to Aeroplan are very rare, and have been all but nonexistent in recent years.
