Marriott Bonvoy offers Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador Elite members the opportunity to select benefits for the coming year.
These benefits are in addition to those automatically available, such as free breakfasts or upgrades. The deadline for choosing your benefits is February 1, 2025.
To achieve these status levels, you need to have stayed at least 50 Elite nights (Platinum) or 75 nights (Titanium and Ambassador) during the year. However, you don’t need to have stayed that many nights:
See our guide to Marriott Bonvoy status to find out how reaching a status can help you save money, earn more points and enhance your experience when staying at Marriott Bonvoy hotels.
As a Platinum Elite member, with at least 50 eligible nights in the previous year, you can choose from several annual Marriott Bonvoy benefits:
These benefits are for 2025, not 2026. If you need more Elite Night Credits to reach a higher status, adding five nights to your 2025 total could help! Act quickly: you have until February 1, 2026 to make your selection.
What was previously known as “Suite Upgrade Awards” is now called “Nightly Upgrade Awards,” a term that refers to upgrades in general and not just suites.
As a Titanium Elite member, meaning you have earned at least 75 eligible nights in the previous year, you can make a second selection from these Annual Choice Benefits offered by Marriott Bonvoy:
These are benefits for 2025, not 2026. However, for the free night, if chosen between January 1 and February 1, 2026, the certificate will be valid until December 31, 2027 (instead of 2026).
To make your benefit selection, you must log in to your Marriott Bonvoy account on this page before February 1, 2026. A popup will appear explaining how many benefits you can select.
Here’s the one for Platinum Elite members:
You will then be invited to choose from the available benefits based on your status:
Members who have reached Titanium Elite status can select a second benefit. The list includes the same options as the first benefit, with the addition of these two choices:
Please note that you have until February 1, 2026, to make your selection.
For Titanium Elite members, it might be worthwhile to wait until January 1, 2026 to make your second selection.
Take Jean-Maximilien, for example, who already has upgrades in his Marriott Bonvoy account, chosen as his first benefit. He felt there was no need to add any more at this time. Especially since it’s often possible to negotiate via chat to get an upgrade without using these credits!
What about the 5 Elite Nights? Personally, I barely reached Platinum status at the end of December 2024, so it was clear that these credits would not allow me to reach Titanium status. In 2025, I did not reach Gold status, but thanks to Marriott Bonvoy’s “soft landing” policy, I know that my status will change from Platinum to Gold in February 2026.
As for Jean-Maximilien, he had 30 Elite Nights as of January 1 thanks to his Canadian and American credit cards. And he added enough nights during the Double Elite Nights promotion to reach the 75-night milestone.
Please note that even if the 5 Elite Nights are selected in January 2026, these credits apply only to the year 2025 and therefore cannot contribute to achieving status in 2026.
Analyze your needs before chasing a status:
Yes, having Marriott Bonvoy status (Platinum or higher) offers you many valuable benefits. But is it really worth investing in up to 35 nights at hotels (or 18 nights if you take advantage of the annual Double Elite Nights promotion) if you’re not a business traveller? Wouldn’t it be better to simply pay for your breakfasts or treat yourself to a nicer room on your next trips? And focus on getting points rather than status?
As for the second selection available to Titanium and Ambassador members, there’s no hesitation for Jean-Maximilien: he’ll choose the Free Night Award worth up to 40,000 points.
It was an easy choice, considering that Gold Elite status is available simply by holding the American Express Platinum Card, for example. Here as well, it’s more advantageous to make your selection between January 1 and February 1, 2026, since the certificate will then be valid until December 31, 2027 (instead of 2026 if chosen in 2025)!
If you do not make a selection before February 1, 2026, you will automatically receive five Nightly Upgrade Awards for each of the Platinum, Titanium, and Ambassador Elite benefits.
