To the point You can now book Emirates First Class with Aeroplan points. But it's not cheap!

In late 2022, Aeroplan announced the addition of Emirates as a partner for earning and using Aeroplan points.

Since then, it has been possible to book Emirates flights in economy and business class with Aeroplan points. It is now also possible to book Emirates First Class flights with Aeroplan points.

How much does Emirates First Class cost with Aeroplan points?

Unlike the First Class flights available on Aeroplan with other Aeroplan partner airlines such as Lufthansa or All Nippon Airways, First Class flights with Emirates have their own reward chart.

What’s more, unlike Aeroplan’s partner airlines with a fixed fare structure, Emirates flights have a flexible fare structure when using Aeroplan points.

Here is the reward chart that applies when using Aeroplan points with Emirates:

Emirates has reduced the number of partners that can use points to book flights on board its aircraft. Alaska Mileage Plan was, for example, an exciting option in the past as we had the opportunity to try it while travelling on board the New Emirates First Class (Boeing 777 ” Game Changer “).

And for the past several weeks, Emirates has been slowly devaluing its loyalty program, Emirates Skywards, by increasing the miles required for travel on its aircraft.

So, here are some examples of pricing for travel on Emirates First Class with Aeroplan Points based on distance travelled. Note that the rate may change as it is a dynamic reward chart:

Rate band in miles Route Aircraft Cost
0 – 2 000 Istanbul – Dubai A380 102,000 Aeroplan Points + $74
2 001 – 5 000 Paris – Dubai A380 164,000 Aeroplan Points + $200
2 001 – 5 000 Nice – Dubai A380 / B777 151,000 Aeroplan Points + $171
5 001 – 9 000 Toronto – Dubai A380 302,500 Aeroplan Points + $106
9 001 – 12 000 Toronto – Dubai – Johannesburg A380 489,000 Aeroplan Points + $119

How to fly Emirates First Class with Aeroplan points?

This makes it expensive to fly First Class with Emirates using Aeroplan points. However, if you have many Aeroplan points, especially with Aeroplan credit cards, this is an experience you should try at least once. I recommend that you find a flight of at least 6 hours.

Bottom Line

The good news is that Emirates First Class is available with Aeroplan points, and availability seems high.

Unfortunately, the bad news is that very few people will be able to afford this, other than points millionaires (including entrepreneurs with business spending on Aeroplan credit cards or American Express Membership Rewards Cards ).

Here are some credit card offers to earn Aeroplan points for a potential Emirates First Class travel:
