Travel Benefits With Aeroplan Points

Aeroplan Points aren’t just for booking reward flights: they can also be used to elevate your travel experience.

In-Flight Wi-Fi

All Aeroplan members have access to in-flight messaging on Air Canada flights, in partnership with Bell. If you don’t yet have an Aeroplan account, sign up before your next flight to take advantage of this benefit!

For a more complete Internet service, you can purchase high-speed Wi-Fi in-flight. You can pay in cash or with Aeroplan Points.

Bid for an Upgrade

Air Canada offers passengers the possibility of upgrading their ticket to a superior cabin (Economy Privilege or Business Class) thanks to the Upgrade Bid system.

You can place your wager in cash or Aeroplan Points as soon as you purchase your ticket and up to 48 hours before departure.

Travel Benefits With Aeroplan Co-branded Credit Cards

Aeroplan co-branded credit cardholders enjoy numerous benefits when travelling with Air Canada.

First Checked Bag for Free

Easier Access to Elite Status

With Aeroplan co-branded credit cards, Elite status is easier to achieve. You earn Status Qualifying Miles (SQM), Status Qualifying Dollars (SQD), and Status Qualifying Segments (SQS) before you even take off.

Use your credit card for everyday purchases and earn 1 Everyday Status Qualification Point (EDQ) for every eligible Aeroplan Point you earn with your card. If you accumulate 100,000 EDQ in a calendar year, you’ll earn Aeroplan 25K Elite status.

Additionally, you’ll earn 1,000 SQM and 1 SQS for every eligible spending threshold you reach with your credit card.

Access to Maple Leaf Lounges

Premium Aeroplan co-branded credit cardholders receive unlimited access to Maple Leaf Lounges at airports across North America. These lounges are the perfect place to relax before a flight, enjoy a meal, or celebrate the start of your vacation with a drink.

Status for Avis Car Rentals

Aeroplan co-branded credit cardholders benefit from Avis Preferred or Avis President’s Club status, depending on the card. This status entitles you to a free upgrade when you rent a vehicle in Canada, the United States, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand (subject to availability).

Plus, you earn one Aeroplan Point for every dollar you spend at Avis. Find out more about the partnership between Aeroplan and Avis on this page.
