Chexy now accepts Mastercard in Canada. Until now, the platform only supported Visa and American Express for Canadian cards. This update is a game-changer for thousands of Mastercard holders. Rent, taxes, bills: you can now pay everything with your preferred Mastercard and earn rewards on every payment.
In addition to Mastercard integration, Chexy has rolled out several other new features: flexible payment schedules, multi-card management, a new activity dashboard, and changes to business service fees.
Consult our complete guide to Chexy for a global overview of the platform.
Before this update, Chexy only accepted Visa and American Express cards issued in Canada. International Mastercard cards were accepted (at a 2.5% fee), but not Canadian Mastercards. This is no longer the case.
You can now add a Canadian Mastercard to your Chexy account and use it to pay your rent, municipal taxes, utility bills, or income taxes. Fees remain at 1.75% for Canadian cards, the same rate as Visa and Amex.
Until recently, Chexy only offered monthly payments. The platform now offers four payment frequencies. You can adapt your installments to your pay cycle.
Chexy now allows you to add up to 5 credit cards to a single account. You can assign a different card to each payment to maximize your rewards. For example, use your Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card for rent (to get 4% cash back) and your MBNA World EliteMD Rewards MastercardMD for other bills.
To choose the best combination of cards, consult our selection of the best credit cards for recurring payments in Canada. You can also compare options on our card comparison tool.
Chexy has launched a new Activity page that groups your complete transaction history. You can view your recent payments directly from the home screen. Additionally, it is possible to download your history in CSV format—useful for tracking expenses or sharing with your accountant.
Chexy has launched a dedicated service for businesses. Small businesses can now pay their supplier invoices and payroll via electronic funds transfer (EFT), while accumulating rewards on their credit card. Consult our review of Chexy for Small Business for more details.
Chexy’s business service offers four methods for disbursing funds to the recipient:
