Value of this Aeroplan promotion

According to our evaluation, 1 Aeroplan point = 2 cents.

So, being able to earn 10-20 points per dollar on an Air Canada purchase means a 20-40% return on your purchase in Aeroplan points! And as you read in Jean-Maximilien’s review on Etihad Airways, if you use your points for business class flights, you could get around 6 cents per dollar. This means an even more significant return with this new Air Canada promotion.

For example, if you use your TD® Aeroplan® Visa Infinite Privilege* Card to purchase $1,000 worth of Air Canada flight or Air Canada Vacation packages, you will earn 20,000 Aeroplan points (instead of the usual 2,000 points).

If you redeem your Aeroplan points at a value of :

  • 1 cent per point, it equals a $200 value (or a 20% return on your purchase)
  • 2 cents per point, it equals a $400 value (or a 40% return on your purchase)

Or if you use your Aeroplan points like Jean-Maximilien at a value of 6 cents per point, that’s a value of $1,200 (or a 120% return on your purchase)!

15% discount on Air Canada fares

Offer applies only to base fares posted for these Air Canada flight classes:

  • Economy
  • Premium Economy
  • Business

In addition, the flight must have travel dates between August 23, 2021, and June 30, 2022 (inclusive)

However, the following blackout dates apply:

  • From December 16, 2021 to January 6, 2022
  • From February 26, 2022 to March 20, 2022
Promo

For residents outside Quebec only, remember that you can also benefit from an additional rebate: up to $50 for each booking made with Air Canada. With a TD Aeroplan Credit Card, you could earn between $125 and $250 cash back in total.

Conclusion

This promotion is in fact a continuation of a similar one launched last month.

However, the 15% discount portion has been replaced by a $50 and $100 discount on certain destinations.
