25% bonus between American Express Membership Rewards and Marriott Bonvoy
Usually, 1 Membership Rewards Point = 1.2 Marriott Bonvoy points. But with the promotion, that means 1 Membership Rewards points = 1.5 Marriott Bonvoy points.
For example, if you transfer 1,000 Membership Rewards points, you will receive a total of 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points (instead of 1,200).
I did the test on October 4, 2023, by transferring 1,000 Membership Rewards points from my American Express Cobalt® Card to my Marriott Bonvoy account, and I did get 1,500 Marriott Bonvoy points:
- 1,200 Marriott Bonvoy points (usual transfer rate of 1:1.2)
- 300 bonus Marriott Bonvoy points
For example, the 30,000-point welcome bonus on the American Express Cobalt® Card can be converted into 45,000 Marriott Bonvoy points.
And if you’re a cardmember, every spend in a 5-point-per-dollar category (grocery stores, restaurants, bars, convenience stores) equals 7.5 Marriott Bonvoy points. This is an excellent value!
This is a great promotion for transferring Membership Rewards points to Marriott Bonvoy and getting free hotel nights.
As a reminder, you can transfer your Membership Rewards points from any American Express Membership Rewards credit card, such as the American Express Cobalt® Card, the American Express® Gold Rewards Card or the Platinum Card® to Marriott Bonvoy.
It’s a great way to get more Marriott Bonvoy points, especially when you’ve already taken advantage of Marriott Bonvoy’s credit card welcome bonuses.
