Did you know that you can redeem your Aeroplan points for a car rental? And for a limited time, you can earn up to 50,000 Aeroplan points back on your booking. Here are the details.
This promotion is valid forbookings made between August 12 and September 3, 2024. Members must register for this offer during the same period, before booking. The minimum threshold of 40,000 points must be reached in a single transaction.
Car rental must be completed by March 31, 2025. Points will be added to the account within six weeks of the end of the trip. Here are the points back thresholds based on the number of points redeemed:

To take advantage of the discount, you must register for the offer on this page with your Aeroplan membership number before making your car rental reservation.
Then you can search for car rentals with reputable companies like Avis or Budget. For example, by renting this car for a week to explore the island of Crete, Greece, you would have to redeem 41,400 Aeroplan points. After getting 10,000 points back, your rental would cost you just 31,400 points.
Since the cash price is $308, you get a value of about 1 cent per Aeroplan point in this case. It’s a value that’s lower than the 2 cents we value based on our estimate, so it’s not the best use of your points, but it’s not necessarily a bad deal if your goal is to reduce the cost of your trip rather than use your points on flights only.
If you’ve accumulated a good number of Aeroplan points and would like to book your next car rental with points, it’s worth doing so between now and September 3, 2024 to get points back that you can use for future travel.
