During our world tour as a family, we stayed one night at the hotel The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur belonging to the Marriott Bonvoy program.
For this one-night stay, we decided to pay for our room at the very competitive rate: 140 CA$ per night. At the time of our stay, this hotel was in category 6. He’s since been downgraded to Category 5.
We simply charged our room cost to the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card to earn 5 Marriott Bonvoy points per dollar.
Depending on when you stay there, it may be worthwhile to use an annual free night award obtained with one of the Marriott Bonvoy credit cards (see the end of the article for details on these cards).
The day before we arrived, we negotiated through the mobile app chat in order to get an upgrade to suite. Upgrade to be granted!

The The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is located near Kuala Lumpur Central Station, KL Sentral. However, you will have to use the hotel’s free shuttle bus to get there, as the area is entirely dedicated to cars.
We had chosen this location for our last night in Kuala Lumpur (after spending 2 nights in W Kuala Lumpur) so that we could easily use the KLIA Express train to catch our flight to Kuala Lumpur International Airport.
The The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is KL Sentral’s. Far from being a tourist area, it has the advantage of being well served by public transport.
We had already stayed in this area in the excellent hotel The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection.
Staying at KL Sentral allows you to get to the airport quickly (approx. 30-40 minutes through the KL Express train). So it’s a good place for a short stopover in Kuala Lumpur.
Walking in the area is difficult, so you will have to use public transport or a taxi.
Nearby you can visit:
Less than 10 minutes away by taxi:
And to reach the Tours Pétronas district, count 20 minutes by taxi. And about 40 minutes to the Batu Caves.
After leaving the fabulous W Kuala Lumpur hotel, we had high expectations with the The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur. And I might as well warn you: we were not disappointed!
As soon as we arrived, the hotel staff greeted us with big smiles and small attentions for the children. While Jean-Maximilien was taking care of the check-in, I spoke with a Butler from the hotel who will give us welcome gifts for the children and advice for our next destination: Bali.
The reception area is majestic, with two large reception areas facing each other.
Our stay takes place during the Chinese New Year celebrations. So the decorations are there!
We are heading to our suite 1115, located at the end of the corridor on the 11th floor, with a very luxurious lobby there as well.
The suite’s around the corner from the building. And I might as well tell you, she’s impressive!
The living room is composed of a large sofa with two armchairs facing each other. There is also a dining table, a desk and a large bar in this room.
At the entrance of the suite is a shower room.
Behind a double door is the bedroom. There’s an air of luxury there, too.
There is a large dressing room in the bedroom. So big that the children will decide to make it their room!
Our luggage was delivered by our very own Butler.
Let’s go on to the bathroom. Also, unbelievable!
Composed of a bathtub with integrated television, a very large shower, and a double washbasin.
Women in particular will appreciate the quality of the products found in all The St. John’s hotels. Regis.
The toilets are in a separate room and are Toto brand. Connoisseurs will appreciate 😉
I almost forgot! Between the bathroom and the bedroom there is a massage room. That’s all!
Jean-Maximilien being a Titanium member of the Marriott Bonvoy program, we are entitled to free breakfasts. This is a benefit available to Platinum members as well.
Breakfast at The St. John’s Hotels. Regis rarely disappoints. They’re still pantagruelic! This one is no exception.
Jean-Maximilien had to cover the Air Canada A220 launch event from a distance , so we went down to have breakfast at the last minute.
However, the staff will make sure we don’t lack anything! So I let you discover about twenty photos of all the dishes you could have while staying at the The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.
During our stay, it was over 35 degrees in Kuala Lumpur. Being able to cool off in a beautiful swimming pool is therefore very pleasant, especially since it was deserted!
Actually, two pools are facing each other. A pleasant thing: children can swim in the pool on large areas where they can walk.
At the end of the day, a giant screen appears, broadcasting sports or news at the request of the customers present.
A very nice training room is available at the The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur.
With children, it’s hard to enjoy it, though. But know that it exists!
The The St. Regis Kuala Lumpur is obviously a business hotel. This means that, as a tourist, you often have the facilities at your disposal: swimming pool, gym, breakfast when you have it at 10 am!
We appreciate luxury for a more than reasonable price. And it is rare to have hotels of this level of quality, accessible with the annual Free Night Award from the Marriott Bonvoy™ American Express® Card.
If you are passing through Kuala Lumpur AND would like to have a luxurious experience, I would highly recommend this hotel.
If you want to save points, the nearby The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, Autograph Collection can be a good choice while being upscale too!
