Jonathan Riverin is a Milesopedia contributor, avid traveler passionate about luxury hospitality and photography. A specialist in Aeroplan and Marriott Bonvoy programs, he shares his stay at the Park Tower, Luxury Collection Hotel, during a couples’ trip to Buenos Aires.
As part of a couples’ trip to Buenos Aires, we chose the Park Tower, Luxury Collection Hotel as our first introduction to the city, ideally located near San Telmo and several major attractions. This central location allowed us to easily explore different iconic neighborhoods.
In this detailed review, I share my complete experience: Marriott Bonvoy booking and points accumulation, arrival, upgraded corner suite, restaurant, facilities, and surroundings.
For the Park Tower, we opted for a cash payment, as room rates in low season were relatively affordable for a hotel in this category. This also allowed us to maximize points accumulation by using our Amex Marriott card, which multiplies points by 5 on hotel expenses at Marriott Bonvoy.
Located in the central Retiro neighborhood, the hotel is approximately 30 to 40 minutes by taxi from Jorge Newbery Airport (AEP) and approximately 45 to 60 minutes from Ezeiza Airport (EZE). It is especially well connected: 2 to 5 minutes on foot from Retiro train station and Retiro metro station, providing direct access to the Recoleta and San Telmo neighborhoods and the rest of the city. The location also makes it easy to walk to several downtown and microcentro attractions.
Check-in takes place in a large, bright lobby dominated by marble, which can seem a bit imposing at first glance. The reception is more formal, but efficient and professional, with the option to wait comfortably while the room is prepared. Finally, we had a pleasant surprise upon arrival with an upgrade to a suite, which made the experience particularly enjoyable.
The corner suite is very bright and offers beautiful volumes, making it particularly pleasant. However, the furniture appears somewhat dated, with certain worn elements and the presence of carpeting contributing to a drier air feel.
The bathroom remains spacious and functional, but the overall feel reflects a more classic style, less updated than the standards expected of a hotel in this category.
The St. Regis Restaurant serves breakfast daily from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Also open for lunch, it offers a more classic and formal experience, in keeping with the establishment.
The wellness facilities are shared with the adjacent complex (Sheraton) and include a complete fitness center accessible to guests. The hotel also offers high-end concierge services and a well-developed business center, suitable for both leisure and business clientele.
There is no dedicated pool in the tower itself; you must go to the Sheraton. Overall, the facilities display a more classic style and would benefit from renewal to meet the modern standards expected of a hotel in this category.
Located in the Retiro neighborhood, the hotel is in immediate proximity to Plaza San Martín and a short distance from San Telmo and Recoleta by taxi or public transport. The location is especially convenient for quick access to the city’s main tourist neighborhoods. To continue discovering the country with points, consult our guide to traveling on a budget.
Overall experience was satisfactory, marked primarily by an excellent location and an appreciated upgrade that enhanced the stay. The hotel offers good comfort and a convenient base for exploring the city, particularly thanks to its proximity to the main neighborhoods and transportation.
However, the older style and certain aging facilities result in a less refined overall feel than what one might expect from a hotel in this category. I recommend it primarily to business travelers seeking a central and efficient location. I give it a rating of 7 out of 10.
