When I stayed at Le Meridien Riyadh, the rate was 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, while the room cost was over $350 CAD per night due to several conventions in town (and the Music Festival I was attending).
So I chose to use my Marriott Bonvoy points for this 3-night stay.
I could have chosen to stay five nights (to get a free night using my points).
But I also wanted to visit 2 other hotels in the city to share my experience:

Le Méridien Riyadh hotel is located in the heart of Riyadh city, at the intersection of King Abdullah Road and Olaya St.
After a stay at the Riyadh Airport Marriott Hotel, we arrived at the Le Méridien Riyadh hotel. We tried to check-in earlier than the scheduled time.
Unfortunately, the room was not available and we had to wait 20 minutes… then 30 minutes… then 45 minutes… Finally, after 1h30, we got the room.
In the meantime, the hotel offered us access to the lounge on the 13th floor to refresh.
On the lobby level, there is a café/bar, a library and a lounge area. There is also an outdoor terrace (but the traffic at the intersection makes it particularly noisy).
We were upgraded to the Executive Suite. Truth be told, I had several suite upgrades credits left to use by the end of the year. You might as well not take a chance to negotiate via chat!
Our room was located on the 13th floor of the hotel (Lounge floor).
Opening the suite’s door, we arrive in the living room, bathed in light. Besides the feeling of space, what’s nice is the floor-to-ceiling windows.
At the entrance, there is a bathroom with a toilet.
The bedroom is at the corner of the building. Thus, the room is in an arc, and the furniture is instead well arranged, with a comfortable armchair at the back.
The bathroom has a bathtub (with a built-in TV screen), a toilet with a bidet and a huge shower.
Breakfast at Le Méridien Riyadh is served at the hotel’s restaurant: Milwan.
The room is charming and bathed in natural light in the morning.
Breakfast is served as a buffet. And it is possible to order eggs of any kind you wish.
For members with Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador status, breakfast is complimentary. You can also get it with some paid rates through the hotel’s website on Marriott Bonvoy at this address.
Le Méridien Riyadh has an outdoor pool (as well as a children’s pool).
The particularity of this pool is to offer transparent walls allowing to see the swimmers underwater.
Le Méridien Riyadh ‘s lounge is located on the 13th floor. It is pleasant and offers a beautiful view of Riyadh.
During the day, you can find fruits, drinks and coffee machines.
You can find a buffet of cold starters (including good cheeses) and hot dishes in the evening.
The gym offers brand new and high quality equipment:
On the top floor there is a very nice conference room with a view of a large part of the city of Riyadh:
Staying at Le Méridien Riyadh Hotel puts you in the heart of Riyadh. One of the nearby attractions is the Skybridge offering 360-degree views of Riyadh from a height of over 300 meters:
In my opinion, it is a worthwhile attraction allowing you to realize the extent of the city and the developments underway.
Here are some suggestions for activities in Riyadh and the surrounding area from our partner Viator:
The best way to earn Marriott Bonvoy points for free stays at over 8,000 hotels worldwide is to have the Marriott Bonvoy® American Express®* Card (and/or the Marriott Bonvoy® Business American Express®* Card).
In addition to the exceptional welcome bonus of each of these two cards, you’ll earn 2 points per dollar on all your purchases and 5 points per dollar at any of the Marriott establishments. On top of that, every year, you’ll receive a free hotel night certificate (worth 35,000 points) and 15 Elite Night Credits toward your Marriott Bonvoy status.
Of all the hotels I visited in Riyadh, this is the one that offers the best value in my eyes.
The facilities are brand new; the breakfast and the lounge are high quality. There is free indoor parking. Perhaps the service at the front desk could be slightly better.
Anyway, if you need to spend a few nights in Riyadh, Le Méridien Riyadh is an excellent choice.
