Avion Rewards, RBC‘s new loyalty program, is now available to all Canadians (even those who don’t have RBC Avion credit cards such as the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card).

Anyone can open an Avion Rewards account and become an Avion Select member. You can register here now.

Also, as an Avion Select member, you can earn and redeem points for :

• gift cards (coming soon) ;
• articles (coming soon) ;
• and travel.

Since December 2023, the option has been available for a Select member to book a trip such as a plane ticket, hotel, car rental, and so on. The portal is very similar to that of the Avion Rewards site.

The redemption rate is 172 RBC Rewards points for $1 off the trip. This is exactly the same rate as a Premium member (with an RBC ION Visa card, for example).

In comparison, an Elite member holding any RBC Avion card has a redemption rate of 100 RBC Rewards points.

Avion Select also lets you earn Avion points with any credit card!

This card must be linked to the Avion Select profile, and the principle is the same as linking a Mastercard credit card to your AIR MILES account.

In the example below, you earn 250 Avion points by spending $20 with Lyft. You need to link a credit card to your Avion Select profile and then pay Lyft with that same card, following the details of the offer. The points will then be added to your Avion Select account.

The principle is the same for cash rebates.

By making Avion Rewards available to everyone, RBC is competing with other universally accessible rewards programs such as Aeroplan and AIR MILES.

This new Avion Rewards program option will undoubtedly make it easier for RBC to acquire new customers by offering them an entry-level Avion Rewards credit card like the RBC ION Visa Card and RBC ION+ Visa Cardor a more premium card such as the RBC Avion Visa Infinite Card.

And earn more points in the process!
