Being a PC Optimum member is a great way to earn valuable rewards on groceries, everyday essentials, beauty products, clothes, and more.
With over 4,500 participating locations across Canada, the PC Optimum program makes it easy to build up your account balance through in-person shopping, plus they even let you accelerate your savings with additional bonus offers!
In this article, we’ll go over the different types of PC Optimum offers so that you can earn every point possible.
PC Optimum offers are special opportunities and promotions that give you bonus points on select products at designated stores.
They range from small 100-point bonuses up to large opportunities to earn 10,000+ bonus PC Optimum points.
Depending on where you live, you’ll find PC Optimum offers available for Loblaws-banner stores like No Frills, Maxi, and Provigo, and for merchants like Shoppers Drug Mart, Pharmaprix, Joe Fresh, Esso, and Mobil.
Your PC Optimum offers can be found by logging into your account, either on the PC Optimum website or through the PC Optimum app.
Each week a number of limited time offers are automatically loaded and made available, typically targeted for Shoppers Drug Mart and the grocery store that you shop at most frequently.
To earn the points associated with each offer, just buy the selected product and scan your PC Optimum membership card. The advertised points should be deposited immediately, and you can always check your receipt to see that they were.
Additionally, it’s worth noting that some offers need to be manually loaded before you can access them. We’ll go over these below.
There are a few different types of PC Optimum offers, so let’s go over each of them:
At the top of your account’s Offers section, you’ll likely see the “Hottest Offers,” which represent the most valuable current promotions.
Examples of past offers include the chance to earn a bonus of 20,000 or 30,000 points (equal to $20 or $30 in value!) when you spent $60 during the promotional period or 3 months of free Apple TV.
You may also see smaller but proportionally valuable offers like the chance to earn 2,000 points (worth $2 when redeemed) when you spend $5 or more on eligible convenience stores purchases at Esso stations.
The next type of offer that you’ll find is for pharmacy purchases — usually focused exclusively on the pharmacy where shop the most.
In this category, you’ll see offers like the chance to earn 20x the points or to earn 40,000 bonus points when you meet the spending requirements.
To help you earn even more, you can also access additional offers and savings by clicking on “Unlock More Offers” and selecting those that are of interest.
The offers in this section of your account are focused on a personalized list of products that are typically things you buy frequently, giving you a way to earn points and save on your regular grocery items.
These offers can earn you points at grocery stores and pharmacies, and they’re active for one week, typically refreshing on Thursdays.
If you’re already stocked up on certain groceries, but still want to earn points, you’re in luck! You can save up to 4 of these offers per week to use the following week, making sure that you don’t miss out on points just because you haven’t eaten all your bananas yet.
Plus, beyond the personalized “offers picked for you,” you can also earn points on promoted products as seen in the images below:
Digital coupons are yet another way to save money and earn PC Optimum points on eligible products.
Just keep in mind that similarly to the “Unlock More Offers” from the pharmacy section above, digital coupons need to manually selected if you want to enjoy their perks.
The final category of PC Optimum offers lets you enjoy promotions at stores other than your home grocery store and pharmacy.
This means that if you usually shop at a Loblaws near your house, in this section you might find offers for stores like No Frills, Real Canadian Superstore, or Provigo.
With these offers, you’ll also be shown available ways to earn PC Optimum points with partners of the program. For example, thanks to the integration between PC Optimum and DoorDash, you have a chance to earn a nice chunk of bonus points when you link your accounts.
PC Optimum offers are a great way to get even more from an already valuable program.
With a diversity of offers available, it’s easy to save on groceries and everyday essentials, all while earning some extra PC Optimum points.
