With the National Bank World Elite Mastercard, the National Bank World® Mastercard®, and the National Bank Platinum Mastercard®, you earn NBC reward points on all your purchases (and through their welcome bonus).
You can use these reward points for any travel purchase: flights, train tickets, rental cars, hotels, Airbnb rentals, etc). The same applies to any booking made through a travel agency such as Expedia.
As soon as you have 10,000 points, you can receive a $100 discount on your next travel reservation through the “Voyage à la carte” agency.
Otherwise, with 12,000 points in your account (a $100 value), you can use them for a travel credit. Then in increments of 11,000 points (or $100) when you redeem more than 55,000 points in the same transaction.
To use the reward points from your National Bank World Elite Mastercard, you will need to log in to your online NBC À la carte Rewards Plan account. You can click on this link to go directly to this page.
Then select your National Bank credit card.
Then click on “Travel”.
A page will open and you’ll have to choose how you want to use your NBC Reward Points.
Once on the NBC À la carte Rewards Plan portal, select the “Book your next vacation” option.
Then a new window will appear. You can choose the flight or the all-inclusive package you want.
Then, at the time of booking, you can choose to apply your NBC reward points to reduce the cost of your trip. A minimum of 10,000 points is required to obtain a $100 discount on your purchase.
For an all-inclusive package:
For a plane ticket:
You can see that the $200 discount was applied in both cases using 20,000 NBC reward points.
If you don’t have enough points to cover the entire cost, you can simply supplement with money.
What’s more, you can earn additional NBC rewards points through the À la carte Travel agency.
Hotel, car rental and cruise bookings are redirected to third-party supplier websites. They are therefore not eligible for earning or redeeming points at the rate of 10,000 points = $100, but you can still use your points through the “Refund your last stay” option.
Once on the “Redeem your last stay” portal, you can calculate the value of your NBC reward points for a travel discount and then click on “Redeem”.
The exchange rate is different from that of bookings made with the À la carte Travel agency.
Eligible purchases are:
The travel rebate will be issued as a credit to your credit card account within 72 hours of your NBC reward points redemption request.
Here’s an example when I used my points for my tour in Turkey with G Adventures.
You have 60 days following your purchase to claim your travel discount.
The National Bank World Elite Mastercard has an annual fee of $150 (except sometimes for the first year, depending on the welcome offer).
Don’t forget that you also enjoy multiple travel credits totaling up to $150 each year, travel and purchase insurance that stands out from the competition, and unlimited access to the National Bank Lounge!
Log in to your BNC Rewards account online and select the “Redeem My Points” option when booking. You can apply your points directly at checkout to lower the total cost of your trip. The system will automatically show you how many points are required based on the value of your reservation.
Generally, 100 NBC Rewards points are equivalent to $1 off your À la carte Travel reservations. This value may vary depending on current promotions and the type of service booked (flight, hotel, package). We recommend that you check the conversion value displayed at the time of booking.
NBC Rewards points do not expire as long as the credit card account is active and in good standing.
