Here is our review of the Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort, a hotel in the heart of Willemstad on the island of Curaçao.
Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort - Around the hotel
The Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort is located in the heart of a commercial complex, between the cruise ship terminal and the city of Willemstad.
It is without a doubt the most touristy place we visited with high-end stores, restaurants and even a casino.
Just a few minutes walk from the Queen Emma floating bridge, the hotel is ideally located for exploring the city. Built partly in old fortifications, Willemstad is a colorful and welcoming city where it is good to stroll.
You will find many stores and pretty squares surrounded by restaurants or bars as well as countless frescos, works of local artists.

Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort - Registration
The regular room without windows was 40,000 Marriott Bonvoy points per night. Being a Platinum Elite member, we were entitled to an upgrade to a room with a balcony overlooking the ocean.
In addition to the upgrade, the status gave us access to free breakfast for two (they still offered breakfast to the kids) as well as a welcome gift that consisted of:
- a small bottle of rosé,
- chocolates,
- a thermos glass,
- a coaster/opener,
- and two pairs of goggles for the children.
Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort - Room
Recently renovated, our room with two queen beds was very clean and had plenty of storage with a closet, a console under the TV, and a handy shelf and hook system for drying towels after the pool.
We also had a small sofa and a table.
Our big disappointment: the “ocean view”. From our balcony, the entire view was blocked by the bar, stores and cruise ships.
The bathroom was very standard with a shower bath, a single sink and a toilet.
Curiously, the room only had 110v North American plugs, while the island uses 220v European plugs.
Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort - Breakfast
The breakfast was a large buffet with a very good variety of choices. They serve fruit, potatoes, bacon, omelets, yogurt, cheese, deli meats, bagels, pastries, juices, coffee, tea, cereals as well as eggs and smoothies on demand.
Being so close to the city, we preferred to eat out, but you should know that the hotel has several restaurants and bars. A Starbucks coffee shop is also on the premises.

The pool at the Renaissance is very special; it is an infinity beach, a kind of salt water pool surrounded by sand, raised from the ocean.
Of course, the hotel provides towels, sun loungers are available for guests and a bar serves food and drinks during the day. A smaller freshwater pool is located next door.

The Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort does not have a lounge, which is normally offered to Marriott Bonvoy members with higher status.

The Renaissance Wind Creek Curacao Resort also features an open casino for players who want to try their luck.
Renaissance Wind Creek Curaçao Resort - My overall impression
In the end, you will choose this hotel for its location near the city. Unfortunately, the coming and going of the cruise ships (and their occupants) makes it a rather noisy area (the ships ring their bell at their departure and arrival, even at 11 pm).
Also, a closet light would automatically come on when we walked past it to go to the bathroom which also woke us up every time someone went in there during the night.
It is thus at the Marriott Beach Resort that we chose to spend our last five nights. We will analyze it in a future article.
