Nous avions choisi ce vol pour 3 raisons:
Traveling with SAS is a good option to travel to Europe. It costs:
… and a few dollars in taxes.
SAS travels to Boston, Chicago, Newark, Washington, San Francisco and Los Angeles.
Après avoir soupé au salon Lufthansa, nous rejoignons la porte E7 où l’embarquement a déjà commencé.
We get on board quickly through the business class passenger line.
The business class cabin looks resolutely modern and we appreciate the colors of the materials.
It is a cabin arranged in 1-2-1: that is, 1 seat on left windows side, 2 central seats and 1 seat on right windows side.
The central seats are pleasant for people traveling at 2, while being sufficiently separated if you travel alone.
For the seats at the windows, one notable difference is that some of them face the corridor (odd-numbered seats), while the even-numbered seats offer more privacy by being glued to the windows.
Seats glued to the windows will often be the most popular when choosing seats/check-in, so you’ll have to be quick to choose… 😉
Personally, I found this seat very comfortable. Even though it gives the impression of “encapsulating” the feet, it did not bother me to sleep.
There are several storage spaces and electrical / USB plugs.
And a very nice massage function!
The tablet may seem a little small, but a laptop with a mouse fits comfortably on it.
While boarding continues, the crew serves us refreshments including champagne.
I take this opportunity to discover the accessory kit reserved for business class passengers.
It is rather ordinary: let’s say we’ve seen better!
The entertainment system is perfect: the screen is large and of excellent quality.
Let’s do the “coaster test” to compare the size:
The film and series catalog is varied with important recent releases in the cinema.
The dad in me always has a habit when flying, even without traveling with my children: making sure to find the largest toilet on board the aircraft (with a change table).
And I must say that SAS perfectly meets the needs of young parents:
Without any transition, let’s move on to the evening menu!
Jean-Francois strongly advised me to test a Whisky that is taken “only in the air”: the Traveler.
My choice for this dinner:
Jean-Francois’s choice for this dinner:
Cheeses and desserts will be the same for both of us:
Aside from the entrance, I didn’t have a “WoW” effect for this meal. On the other hand, Jean-Francois’s dishes looked good!
Quick note: we greatly appreciated the quality of service (a crew member even changes into “chef” outfit to serve you).
Now it’s time to sleep for a few hours!
The chair is then lowered to bed mode. The blankets and pillows provided are very comfortable!
Stuck to the windows, I feel like I’m in a cocoon…
… and what about my travel companion!
So we closed our eyes…
… and reopened it!
A good 4 hours of rest!
We asked not to be woken up for breakfast, and our wish will have been respected!
Jean-Francois had a good chat with the crew during the flight, so he was able to get us an entry into the cockpit after landing. Always a very appreciated moment for #avgeeks like us!
Blurred photo… but the lighting conditions were far from optimal.
Whether it was the cabin chief, the various flight attendants and the flight crew, they all wanted to serve us and make us happy! Well done SAS. We will not hesitate to use this company again in the future!
