To the point The Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview combines excellent value, a central location and peaceful surroundings. Here is my review of this hotel.
  • Ideal location near the river
  • Comfort and calm guaranteed
  • Rooms are a little small
  • Limited storage space

In Singapore, where there are more than 15 Marriott establishments, we opted for the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview because of its ideal location along the river. This pleasant setting, surrounded by greenery, is perfect for a jog or a leisurely stroll. Staying for four nights, we were looking for a hotel that was central, convenient and close to local restaurants. This hotel fully met our expectations.

Booking

Our stay in April confirmed that the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview offers excellent value for money. The average rate for a standard room was 256 Signapope dollars per night, or 34,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. What made our choice easy was that this hotel was the most affordable Marriott option in the city center, while offering quality service and comfort. The strategic location and competitive rate made this hotel an ideal option for our stay in Singapore.

Arrival

Location

The Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview enjoys a privileged location in the lively Robertson Quay district. This area, renowned for its riverside restaurants, bars and cafés, creates a dynamic and pleasant atmosphere. The hotel is also well integrated into local life, with plenty of green space to relax in.

Just minutes from popular shopping and tourist areas such as Clarke Quay and Chinatown, the hotel offers a quieter, more authentic setting, while still providing easy access to Singapore’s main attractions.

Check-In and Lobby

The Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview, with its 474 rooms, features a spacious lobby where the open layout and high ceilings create a pleasant sense of grandeur. Check-in was quick and professional. Although we weren’t upgraded, we enjoyed our room with a view of the gardens and the river.

Room

Our room at the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview, although relatively compact at 23 m², features a simple yet modern design. The minimalist decor, dominated by beige, taupe and creamy white tones, creates a soothing, elegant ambiance. The king-size bed is comfortable, while the space is functionally laid out, with a small desk for working, several conveniently located power sockets and a TV.

One of the room’s highlights is the bay window, which offers a beautiful view of the lush green parks along the river. The built-in bench in the alcove invites you to relax, offering a cozy spot to admire the scenery.

The space dedicated to personal effects is fairly limited, with few drawers and simple storage solutions for clothes. But this doesn’t prevent the room from being pleasant and well-appointed.

The bathroom is functional and equipped with a single sink, bath/shower combination and modern amenities.

General Impression of the Room

Rooms at the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview are comfortable and functional, suited to travellers seeking simplicity and efficiency. Although space is relatively limited, the sleek design and pleasant view of the surrounding parks add to its charm. The atmosphere remains calm and restful, ideal after a busy day. It may not be the most luxurious choice, but it offers excellent value for money and will appeal to those who value location and practicality above all else.

Restaurant

The Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview is distinguished by its gastronomic diversity, with four on-site restaurants offering a wide range of choices. Whether you’re looking for a casual meal, a business lunch or a more refined culinary experience, the options are varied and of high quality. We tested two of the establishments, and were satisfied with the quality of the meals.

Breakfast

Four Points Eatery

The Four Points Eatery is an excellent choice for breakfast, with a diversified buffet offering a fine selection of local and international dishes. The atmosphere is pleasant thanks to the brightness of the premises, accentuated by large windows and light colors.

Although very busy, the buffet’s many stations mean that customers can be served quickly. One of the restaurant’s highlights is its terrace, ideal for outdoor lunches overlooking the river. However, to avoid the crowds, it’s best to come at off-peak times and not arrive in the last 30 minutes before closing time!

The Best Brew

The Best Brew transforms into a lively evening venue, perfect for those who appreciate the atmosphere of a bar. We enjoyed happy hour there, lured by a 20% discount and two complimentary drinks for Bonvoy Platinum, Titanium and Ambassadors members. The place is lively, with lively conversations and matches on TV. If you’re looking for a festive atmosphere and bar-style food, this is the place for you. However, if you prefer a calmer or more refined atmosphere after a day of sightseeing, it’s best to choose another option.

Imperial Restaurant

Imperial Restaurant offers innovative Chinese cuisine, combining refined dishes and herbal remedies. With authentic flavours and wholesome ingredients, this is a place to discover for those seeking a sophisticated Asian culinary experience.

Irodori Restaurant

The Irodori Restaurant offers a refined Japanese experience, with an à la carte and buffet menu. Dishes are prepared with fresh seafood and quality ingredients from Australia, New Zealand, Norway and Europe. A perfect place for lovers of Japanese cuisine, both authentic and modern.

Other Services

Outdoor Swimming Pool

The outdoor swimming pool, located alongside the river, is a true haven of peace. Sheltered from the noise of the main avenue, this peaceful setting enjoys generous sunshine throughout the day, making it the perfect place to relax. Comfortable deckchairs and several gazebos create private spaces, ideal for relaxation.

Right next to the pool, a glass-enclosed room equipped with a foosball table and mesh chairs with cushions creates an ideal interactive zone for children, adding a playful touch to the space. It’s a well-designed area that combines relaxation with quality family time.

Synergy Training Room

The modern, well-equipped Synergy gym is ideal for those who want to maintain their workout routine. Inspired by the “CrossFit gym” style, it is equipped with cardiovascular machines, free weights and weight machines. It is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, allowing maximum flexibility.

Around the Hotel

The location of the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview was a real asset throughout our stay. The hotel is centrally located, ideal for exploring Singapore’s must-sees, such as those described in Milesopedia’s Guide to Singapore.

One of the highlights of our stay was our visit to Singapore’s National Botanical Orchid Garden. This spectacular UNESCO World Heritage Site offered us a unique sensory experience with its thousands of colorful orchids. We also took the time to venture into Bukit Timah Park, a true nature getaway in the heart of the city, where we were lucky enough to come across monkeys in a lush setting.

Another unforgettable experience was our walk on the Henderson Waves and Southern Ridges, a magnificent hike offering breathtaking views of the city and surrounding nature, with impressive suspension walkways and bridges. It’s a perfect place for outdoor enthusiasts.

Tip

Marina Bay Sands is an iconic hotel in Singapore, and its spectacular view from the top makes it a must-see. However, if you want to avoid the $35 entry fee for the observation deck, here’s a nice alternative: head to LAVO restaurant, located at the top of the hotel. By simply ordering a drink, you can enjoy breathtaking views while sipping on a cocktail or having an appetizer. If you’re lucky, like we were, you might get seated outside and enjoy an aperitif while taking in the stunning view at a fraction of the cost.

Finally, we visited one of the city’s iconic Buddhist temples, a moment of calm and serenity. The contrast between Singapore’s vibrant modernity and its spiritual sites is fascinating.

In the evenings, we took advantage of the hotel’s proximity to enjoy delicious dinners at one of the many local restaurants, just a few steps away. Singapore abounds in culinary specialties, and it’s easy to find a place that will delight your taste buds.

Singapore, with its tropical climate, is pleasant to explore all year round. However, we recommend that you take advantage of the cooler months for outdoor activities, especially if you want to explore the gardens and parks while soaking up the beauty of this cosmopolitan city.

Overall Impression

Our stay at the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview was a pleasant experience, combining comfort, tranquility and convenience. The hotel is located in a quiet setting along the river, yet close to the city’s main sights. Whether relaxing at the pool, taking advantage of the gym or enjoying a meal in one of the hotel’s restaurants, every moment spent here has been a pleasant experience. If you’re looking for well-located, comfortable accommodation that offers excellent value for money, the Four Points by Sheraton Singapore Riverview is a great option for enjoying Singapore to the full.
