Like all my hotel reservations in Qatar during the World Cup, I booked my stay at the last minute (1 to 2 days before arrival).
When I stayed at the Agora Hotel, Doha, Autograph Collection, the rate was 30,000 Marriott Bonvoy points, while the room cost was close to $800 CAD per night due to the World Cup!
So naturally, I chose to use my Marriott Bonvoy points for this one-night stay.
During this trip to Doha, I also stayed in 2 other hotels in the city:

After a great stay at the Hilton Doha The Pearl Hotel & Residences, I decided to stay in the North of Doha in the Lusail area.
The Agora Hotel, Doha, Autograph Collection is opposite the upscale shopping mall: Place Vendome Doha.
The Agora Hotel, Doha, Autograph Collection opened in November 2022, just in time for the start of the World Cup.
There is always a risk in staying in a newly opened hotel. The staff is often “breaking in,” and there are often finishing touches to be made here and there. Was this going to be the case here?
In the lobby, which is all in length, there is a café, and this is also where you can access the hotel’s restaurant.
When I arrived, the receptionist directed me to a couch in the reception area to check in. She took the opportunity to inform me that the hotel had just opened “a few weeks ago” and invited me to come to her in case of problems.
The person operating the front desk coffee shop brought me a refreshment during the check-in process.
The entire hotel is composed of suites. The hotel assigned me a suite on the 9th floor (the one by the pool).
Opening the door to the suite, I arrive in a large living room with a fully equipped kitchen.
A fruit basket and Middle Eastern cakes were waiting for me on the living room table.
In the entrance hall, there is a bathroom with a toilet, a washing machine, and a dryer.
See all the pictures in the gallery below:
More than a hotel suite, it is an entire apartment designed to accommodate people for extended stays.
A large terrace is accessible from the living room and the bedroom. The view is on the Place Vendôme side (the other side of the hotel offers sea views: I advise you to ask for this when you check in: the noise of the festivities taking place at the Place Vendôme could bother you on this side of the building).
The bed was very comfortable on the bedroom side, and there was a connected TV.
The bathroom has a bathtub and a large separate shower. Between the two, a closet behind large mirrors.
Breakfast at the Agora Hotel , Doha, Autograph Collection is served at the hotel’s restaurant located opposite the reception.
It is a charming room in the morning, bathed in natural light.
You can also choose to have lunch on the outdoor terrace.
Breakfast is served as a buffet. And it is possible to order eggs of any kind you wish. It is a varied and quality buffet that I recommend.
Here’s my breakfast choice:

For members with Platinum, Titanium or Ambassador status, breakfast is complimentary. You can also get it with some paid rates through the hotel’s website on Marriott Bonvoy at this address.
The cost of breakfast is 150 QAR (about 55 dollars). If you are a Platinum or Titanium member, it will be deducted from your bill upon departure (this is used to add a tip).
The Agora Hotel , Doha, Autograph Collection has a large outdoor pool on the 9th floor.
Unfortunately, at the time of my visit, it was rather cold, and the windy weather did not give the taste to the bathe.
Many deckchairs are available, and this terrace offers a beautiful view of the nearby beach.
Next to the pool, the Agora, Doha, Autograph Collection offers men’s and women’s locker rooms with built-in spa:
The gym offers quality and varied equipment, and has a good natural light:
When you stay at the Agora Hotel, Doha, Autograph Collection, you are in the new Lusail district. Opposite the hotel is the upscale shopping mall: Place Vendome Doha.
Sound and light shows occur every evening in the center of the Place Vendôme. It is pleasant to spend a little time there, especially since several restaurants are offered. My choice was the Yasmine Palace, and I was not disappointed!
Here are the activity recommendations from our partner Viator:

So? What did I think of this new Agora, Doha, Autograph Collection hotel? Everything was brand new, and the staff was very attentive.
Even though we were in the middle of the World Cup, I hardly saw any other guests (I even felt like I was one of the only guests in the hotel). Like the restaurant, there was far more staff than customers at breakfast, which can be uncomfortable.
In the bedroom, there was an unstoppable ventilation noise from the kitchen hood. I mentioned it to a technician in the hallway, but he said there was nothing he could do about it: it was a duct in the back causing the noise.
Nevertheless, overall, I had a good stay in this hotel. However, I would advise you to wait a few months until the “break-in” is finished before staying there.
