The MOI program brings together banners that are major retailers in Quebec, and has teamed up with RBC to create a new co-branded credit card. Here’s what you need to know about these major changes.
With all this, Jean Coutu is no longer a partner of the AIR MILES program since May 15, 2023.
As of May 25, 2023, Metro, Jean Coutu, Super C, Brunet and Première Moisson are officially part of the Moi program. With all these businesses, this new program will be present in more than 900 locations in Quebec.
The METRO inc. team has promised personalized offers and additional benefits for this Moi program.
Since the launch of the Moi program, the number of members has increased from 1.2 million to 2.5 million. Since May 2023, 65 million dollars in points have been redeemed by members (or approximately 81 million Moi points). It’s the most widely used rewards program in Quebec.
Former metro&me members did not need to join the new program. The same metro&moi loyalty card and number still work in the new Moi program.
However, the Metro mobile application had to be updated, with a new design that now offers the Moi program.
If you’d like to become a member, you can join the Moi program here for free.
Also, Metro grocery stores in Ontario will be moving from the AIR MILES program to the Moi program towards the end of 2024.
Members can still redeem accumulated points in increments of 125 points, with a minimum of 500 MOI points for $4 in rebates.
The only change is that the member no longer has to wait every quarter to get their “check”. From now on, points to be exchanged are available at any time, always with a minimum of 500 points.
Unredeemed award certificates as of April 27, 2023 will be transferred to the account automatically. Then, they can be exchanged in all Metro, Jean Coutu, Super C, Brunet and Première Moisson.
Moi points earning:
Additional points will also be offered for personalized offers, specific products in store and contests to members. In addition, special prices on certain items will be available only to Moi members.
There’s a long list of exclusions on items that don’t earn Moi points:
(…) Tobacco products, lottery tickets, public transit tickets and cards, gift cards and other prepaid cards, stamps, postal services, dry cleaning, movie and video game rentals, possible deposit fees and eco-participations, SAQ products, alcoholic beverages outside the province of Quebec, fees related to the execution and delivery of orders, donations utensils for ready-to-eat products, certain products offered on the platforms of participating partners, products offered by food waste reduction platforms, fragrance discovery boxes, items related to a fundraising campaign, prescription drugs, other drugs and other products and services related to pharmacy or health care
You can earn and redeem points with the Moi chez Jean Coutu program. To access your personalized offers, you need to download the “Jean Coutu & Moi” application and log in with your member information (which is the same as with the old metro&moi program).
Customers of Brunet branches have to go through the same process to access their offers, using the “Brunet & Moi” application.
May 14, 2023 was the last day of the AIR MILES program at Jean Coutu. As we had suspected for some time, Jean Coutu has left the AIR MILES loyalty program to join the Moi program from METRO Group Inc.
AIR MILES reward miles are not lost and remain in the AIR MILES account. However, it is no longer possible to collect or redeem AIR MILES miles at Jean Coutu stores since May 15, 2023.
All Jean Coutu stores in Quebec, Ontario and New Brunswick were affected by this change. This is another loss for AIR MILES, as was the case for Bureau en gros and IGA recently.
