After launching a Status Match offer for UK residents in February 2024, Flying Blue, the Air France KLM frequent flyer program, has just extended the spectrum of eligible members.
So, if you have a status with the frequent flyer program of one of the 16 specific airlines and you live in the UK, Canada or one of the European countries listed, you can also get a status match with Flying Blue via Status Match.
The announcement of this status match offer was made by Ben Lipsey, SVP Customer Loyalty | President of Flying Blue, at The Travel Summit event in Toronto.
In concrete terms, you could get a Flying Blue status for 12 months by submitting an eligible application and paying the required application fee.
For example, you could be awarded Flying Blue Gold status if you are an Aeroplan 50K member residing in one of the countries mentioned (including Canada and the UK). And if you’re an Aeroplan Elite 75K or Super Elite 100K member, you could earn Flying Blue Platinum status!

In addition to being a member of one of the above-mentioned loyalty programs and holding a status, you must also be a resident of one of the eligible countries.

Flying Blue is thus further expanding its presence in North America, particularly in Canada.
After adding itself as a transfer partner for the American Express Membership Rewards program, launching a Mastercard credit card in Canada, and regularly offering attractive flight rewards on Canada-Europe routes during its Promo Rewards program, Flying Blue is now tackling the elite members of Air Canada and WestJet in particular.
If you are a resident of one of the countries listed above and hold status with an eligible airline, this is an excellent opportunity for you to get a Flying Blue status for 12 months.
Of course, the associated cost will have to be recouped by the benefits you’ll receive during these 12 months, whether in the form of free extra baggage, access to SkyTeam lounges or SkyPriority priority lanes (which could prove interesting in this year of the Olympic Games in France).
Do your math!
