The Flying Blue status match, run by the Air France-KLM loyalty program, accepts elite status from about twenty airline programs. Here's what the Canadian offer included, the Aeroplan matching chart, and the options still open.
How the Flying Blue status match works
If you hold elite status with an eligible program, you apply for a match with Flying Blue on flyingblue.statusmatch.com, for a processing fee. Today, the platform only opens it to residents of a few countries, including Greece and Israel.
The same StatusMatch.com platform handles the Emirates Skywards status match, which gets you Silver for $395 USD, useful if you travel through Dubai instead.
You need a Flying Blue account, which is free, and proof of your current status: a photo of your elite card or a screenshot of your account. Government ID may also be required.
A free corporate version also exists for employees of a few companies (Amazon, Maersk, Netflix, Novo Nordisk, Oracle and RTX) who hold Emirates, Etihad, Gulf Air or Qatar Airways status.
What the Canadian offer cost
