If you hold elite status with the loyalty program of one of 23 eligible airlines and reside in Canada, you can also get your status matched with Flying Blue through Status Match.

Specifically, by submitting an eligible application and paying the required fees, you could obtain Flying Blue status for a period of 12 months.

For example, if you are an Aeroplan 50K member residing in Canada, you could obtain Flying Blue Gold status. And if you are an Aeroplan Elite 75K or Super Elite member, you could obtain Flying Blue Platinum status!

Flying Blue Status Match – How to Take Advantage

Frequent travellers interested in Flying Blue status match must follow a three-step process:

  • Provide proof of their current elite status (loyalty card or account statement) on flyingblue.statusmatch.com;
  • Pay the fees according to the level;
  • Meet all eligibility criteria.

Following approval, Flying Blue status is activated without delay, granting immediate access to all benefits of the obtained level. Non-members can create their Flying Blue account for free on flyingblue.ca prior to their status match application.

If approved, the upgrade is valid for 12 months. To retain your status beyond this date, you must re-qualify by meeting the conditions of the Flying Blue program.
