From July 8 to September 30, 2026, IHG One Rewards and United MileagePlus are offering 3X United miles on every paid stay at an IHG hotel. This promotion isn’t open to everyone: you need to be a member of both programs, register by September 30, and select United MileagePlus as your earning preference in your IHG One Rewards account before check-in.

Two separate steps are required, and the order matters:
The calculation is based on United MileagePlus’s standard earning rate for IHG hotels, generally 2 miles per US dollar spent. The 3X multiplies that total, base and bonus combined. For example, on a $100 USD night earning 5 miles per dollar under your status, you’d normally earn 500 base miles; with this promotion’s 3X, you get 1,500 miles total for the same night.

This promotion mainly targets travellers already invested in the United ecosystem: those chasing Premier status or who’d rather earn airline miles than hotel points. If you stay at IHG hotels often but rarely fly United, IHG One Rewards points are probably still more useful to you.

For that specific type of traveller, between July 8 and September 30, 2026, it’s a simple, uncapped bonus to claim. For everyone else, the IHG One Rewards points purchase promotion or the doubled Elite nights offer remain more useful ways to get value from an IHG stay.
