Porter Airlines confirmed today new options to enhance the comfort of its economy class passengers with its recently received new aircraft.
Moreover, the announcement of these aircraft orders had been made in July 2021.
Porter had only De Havilland Dash 8-400s in his fleet. From now on, it can also count on 100 new Embraer E195-E2 aircraft, delivered this year.
With these E195-E2s, Porter will be able to offer destinations such as:
Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) will be the first to host these future direct connections.
Also, these single-aisle aircraft are quieter and consume 25% less fuel than the previous model. Here is a partial map of their current and future destinations:

So, for the first time in its history, Porter will fly to Western Canada. In addition, Porter already has a Toronto – Ottawa and Toronto – Montreal route, but they are operated out of Toronto’s Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ).

Porter currently has flights from Ottawa YOW to Fredericton, Halifax, Moncton and Toronto. As of March 27, 2023, travellers in Ottawa will have direct flights to four new destinations. The routes will be operated by 78-seat De Havilland Dash 8-400 aircraft.

Porter adds a second destination in Western Canada. Starting February 22, 2023, travellers from Toronto will be able to fly directly to Calgary. The routes will be operated by Embraer E195-E2 aircraft.
Porter is already known for serving a selection of complimentary premium snacks and beverages, including beer and wine served “in glass glasses.”
With its new E195-E2 aircraft, passengers will also be able to enjoy a free fast Wi-Fi connection.
In addition, these aircraft will not have a business class. Their cabin plan includes only economy class seats, for a total of 132 seats.
There will be two options in this economy class:
In the E195-E2 aircraft, PorterReserve class is the first four rows of the cabin (16 seats). The legroom will be similar to what is found in the business classes of other airlines.
In the Dash 8-400 aircraft, PorterReserve seats will be in the first two rows (4 seats), with approximately 4 inches less leg room.

There will be two levels of fares for the PorterReserve class.
PorterClassic will simply be the standard economy class. Options such as the PorterReserve class should be purchased separately.
There will be four levels of pricing for PorterClassic, depending on the different options.
