Le Massif de Charlevoix

Located in Petite-Rivière-Saint-François, about 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive from Québec City airport (YQB), the Massif de Charlevoix is a must for ski enthusiasts. With a vertical drop of 770 metres, it is the highest east of the Rockies. Overlooking the St. Lawrence River, the panorama from the trails is magnificent.

The resort extends over 53 trails with a variety of terrain for all levels. For the more adventurous, the Liguori area offers a vast off-piste zone for glade skiing. Le Massif also boasts 40 km of snowshoe trails and 27 km of cross-country ski trails for those who prefer a gentler approach to the mountains.

Opening very recently in 2021, Club Med Québec-Charlevoix is the only Club Med in North America. At the foot of the mountain, the village offers an all-inclusive package for ski vacations.

Tremblant

With over 3 million visitors a year, Mont-Tremblant is a world-renowned ski destination. It offers a variety of slopes to suit all levels of skier and is particularly popular for its picturesque alpine village. Located at the foot of the mountain, the village boasts over 30 restaurants, bars, cafés and 35 stores to suit all tastes.

With a vertical drop of 645 metres, the Tremblant offers a total of 102 trails and three snowparks, spread over four slopes. In addition to skiing, the resort offers a multitude of winter activities, including tubing and snowshoeing. It takes about 1 h 30 to reach Mont-Tremblant from Montreal airport (YUL).

Mont-Sainte-Anne

Mont-Sainte-Anne is a ski resort located in Beaupré, less than an hour from Quebec City. With a vertical drop of 625 metres, the ski area comprises 71 trails and two snowparks.

The station is distinguished by its two slopes offering remarkable views, one overlooking the St. Lawrence River and the other looking inland. In addition to skiing and snowboarding, the resort offers snowshoeing and a 200 km network of cross-country ski trails.

Mont-Orford

Located in the Eastern Townships, in the heart of a national park, the ski resort of Mont-Orford is about 1 hour 30 minutes’ drive from Montreal. With a vertical drop of 589 metres, this destination is particularly appealing to fans of glade skiing. The 44 trails and 18 glades are spread over four slopes. What’s more, the site offers panoramic views of the surrounding lakes and valley from its summit. Finally, it’s also possible to go uphill skiing or winter hiking.

The Chic-Chocs

The Chic-Chocs are a paradise for thrill-seekers and powder lovers. These mountains offer a variety of winter activities, including catskiing, heliskiing and ski touring.

A few companies offer services to explore these mountains, such as the Chic-Chac which offers lifts by caterpillar and helicopter. For those who prefer ski touring with sealskins, guided expeditions are available. What’s more, this ski paradise is seldom visited, making it an ideal location for an extraordinary ski vacation.

Getting to Montreal or Quebec City with points

From Toronto-Pearson (YYZ), flights to Montreal (YUL) are frequent and numerous. You can choose between Air Canada and Porter Airlines. Prices are very similar between the two companies: expect to pay around 350 $ for a round trip in winter.

Aeroplan points rates are also very attractive.

Air Canada also serves Quebec City’s Jean-Lesage airport (YQB) from Toronto. Prices in cash and points are more or less the same as to Montreal.
