I had the opportunity to stay for one night at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre hotel. This hotel is classified as a category 6 in the Marriott Bonvoy program.
One night, therefore, costs between 40,000 and 60,000 points. As I stayed there during COVID-19, I preferred to pay, since it was less than $140 per night.
I used my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card to earn 5 points per dollar.
This hotel is located in Vancouver’s heart, and its North Tower (One Wall Centre) is recognizable among the other towers of downtown Vancouver. Moreover, during my stay, only the North Tower was in service; the South Tower was closed to the public.
In the lobby, safety notices are posted on the floor and wall to enforce social distancing. But during my stay, the hotel was empty.
Check-in is done quickly, and the hotel made me sign an agreement to respect all COVID-19 related measures (wearing a mask, social distancing, rules relating to the use of the elevator, etc.).
Let’s see my Deluxe Guest room (2 double beds, city view, in the North Tower, on a high floor). A small upgrade compared to the Traditional room, thanks to my Marriott Bonvoy status.
The hotel suites are not open during COVID-19.

My bedroom at the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel had a decent size, with floor-to-ceiling windows.
In the closet, there is a safe and an ironing board. However, as for other accessories such as a coffee machine, a request must be made at the reception desk. Pretty surprising.
The office chair is comfortable, and I was able to work there for a few hours with a good Wi-Fi network.
Two documents were arranged on the desk:
The bathroom is typical of a Sheraton hotel (I must confess I’m not a fan of the tub-shower combo, very 90’s style).
Access to the gym is closed…
… but it is, however, possible to access it through another way. No view of the outside from this seemingly temporary room.
The pool is closed during COVID-19. That’s too bad, knowing that other hotels can keep this type of facilities open, such as the Vancouver Marriott Pinnacle Downtown Hotel or The Westin Bayshore Vancouver.
Here is a picture of the pool, taken from the hotel’s website:
Breakfast is at Bar One of the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre Hotel. The tables are kept at a distance from each other, and the atmosphere is colourful. The outside view is appreciable, despite the gloomy weather.
Normally, breakfast would be offered in the form of a buffet.
During COVID-19, the food is served at the table. Here is the menu available for Platinum and Titanium members (and customers with access to the Club level with their rate):
I chose to have a Breakfast Sandwich:
Located a few meters from the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre hotel, I highly recommend the Gyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ, a Japanese restaurant in which I had a feast! And this restaurant takes American Express, so you get 5 points per dollar with the American Express CobaltMD Card.
The hotel is well located for those who like to run: walk down Nelson Street, and you will quickly find yourself at the water’s edge and pass by:
And come back by the Burrard Bridge (a long climb before reaching the hotel)!
While the Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre hotel seems to offer some nice amenities, I am, however, disappointed with my experience during COVID-19 with so few services offered, limited room choices, and a “ghost hotel” feeling.
