During my stay in Southeast Asia, I spent 2 nights in Jakarta. First at The St. Regis Jakarta and then in this Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim hotel, part of this review.
To book the Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim hotel, you can redeem 7,000 Marriott Bonvoy points. Check whether it’s worthwhile for you to redeem points instead of paying for your stay in cash (bear in mind that recurring promotions to collect more points or benefits during your stays are only applicable to paid stays)!
I chose to pay for my stay with my Marriott BonvoyMD American ExpressMD* Card in order to take advantage of an ongoing promotion and earn 5 points per dollar for this stay.

Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim is located in the heart of Jakarta, Indonesia. It is ideally located close to tourist attractions, airports and local government offices. Nearby sites include the Grand Indonesia shopping center and the National Monument.
Like all hotels in Indonesia, a security check is carried out before accessing the lobby area. The first check takes place at the parking entrance (which is free, although I wouldn’t recommend driving in Jakarta). The second takes place before entering the building.
The lobby area is spacious, and it’s nice to sit back and enjoy a drink at the WXYZ bar. Incidentally, as my room wasn’t quite ready yet, the front desk offered me an iced coffee to tide me over.
You can also borrow small bicycles to get around Jakarta.
Near the reception, you’ll also find a convenience store and a pool table (as in all Aloft hotels worldwide, such as the Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 hotel I visited a few days earlier in Bangkok).
My room at the Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim was on a high floor. Like what you’ll find in other Aloft brand hotels worldwide, I wasn’t disoriented.
To personalize this standard room, the staff at Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim arranged the towels in the shape of an animal on the bed.
As for the bathroom, it features a large shower (with good pressure).
What’s more, a welcome note was waiting for me on the room mirror (along with a lovely welcome gift). A much-appreciated touch of personalization!
Due to a 6 a.m. takeoff, I was, unfortunately, unable to enjoy breakfast at this Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim hotel.
Please note that there are several eat & drink options:
The swimming pool at Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim is not particularly inviting. It’s small and doesn’t get much natural light (tucked away between two floors), and the railings make it feel like a prison!
The gym at Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim is located near the swimming pool. It’s a small but well-equipped (and air-conditioned) room with plenty of natural light.

The Aloft Jakarta Wahid Hasyim hotel is a good option if you’re looking for a low-cost hotel, both in points and money. However, for a more extended stay, you may prefer a slightly more upmarket property such as The Hermitage – a Tribute Portfolio Hotel – Jakarta or The St. Regis Jakarta.
