As we told you a few weeks ago, CIBC today, October 15, 2018, added new benefits for some of its cardholders. Explanations.
New benefits are available as of October 15, 2018 for holders of:
CIBC offers 4 annual accesses to the above mentioned credit cards.
CIBC joins most other issuers in the market that offer between 2 and 6 Priority Pass airport lounge accesses. In the same fee range (= same annual fee level), only the Scotiabank Passport™ Visa Infinite* Card does better by offering 6 annual accesses… and no conversion fees for foreign currency transactions!
With one of the credit cards listed above, you can receive a discount on the NEXUS membership fee once every 4 years.
Simply pay your application fee with your eligible Aventura Card to take advantage of this exclusive benefit. Applications submitted on or after October 15, 2018 are eligible for this discount.
Finally, CIBC is improving insurance on most of its cards:
Get up to $1, 000 in coverage in the event of loss, theft or accidental damage to your mobile device. Simply pay for your mobile device (cell phone, smartphone, tablet, smartwatch, etc.) with your eligible Aventura credit card.
Charge the total cost of your accommodation to your eligible Aventura credit card and receive a up to $2,500 in coverage in case of loss or damage to your personal belongings (excluding cash) as a result of a burglary in your room while you are registered as a guest.
You, your spouse and dependent children are covered by trip cancellation insurance for up to $1,500(previously limited to $1,000) per trip for each insured person, up to a maximum of $5,000 per trip for all insured persons, if you pay for your trip with your eligible Aventura Card.
So it’s a great day for some CIBC cardholders! It’s always interesting and appreciated to see a credit card issuer adding benefits… rather than taking them away! All information related to these new benefits and questions and answers are available on this CIBC page.
